Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor is not on any social media platform, which is the reason why his massive fandom and media wait anxiously for his films because that's the only time when he got to see him speaking and interacting. Otherwise, he mostly prefers to avoid interviews and chit-chat with the paparazzi during his public appearances. Luckily, it is that golden time for the fans of Ranbir, as he is actively promoting his upcoming film, Shamshera, in which he is going to portray the character of a dacoit. No wonder the stakes are high for this one, as the actor will be seen in a completely different avatar in this film.
On the personal front, on April 14, 2022, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had tied the marital knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at the former's residence. After two months into their happy married life, Alia left everyone surprised when she had announced the news of her first pregnancy. Ever since the actress had announced her pregnancy, there's no press conference of Ranbir in which he wasn't asked about the same.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, while talking about his upcoming film, Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor talked about the movie's director, Karan Malhotra and shared how confident the director regarded his craft. The actor praised the filmmaker for believing in his own ideas and not getting influenced by the inputs of others. Ranbir also recalled his father, late Rishi Kapoor's way of working with the directors and called him a 'big bully'. Explaining the reason behind it, Ranbir stated that his father used to test the character of a filmmaker by questioning his ideas. In his words:
"My father was always a big bully, and he used to test his directors. If he comes on too strong and the director doesn't hold his own and agrees to everything he says, he knows he has to take over the project."
Then, recalling Rishi Kapoor's work with Karan Malhotra in Agneepath, Ranbir Kapoor revealed how the filmmaker stood his ground against his bully father. The Shamshera actor praised the filmmaker for always having confidence in his own work. Ranbir also added that his father used to love filmmakers like Karan, who used to challenge him and have confidence in their vision, irrespective of things people were telling them constantly. Reflecting on the same and heaping praises on his father, Ranbir Kapoor stated:
"So he (Rishi Kapoor) always did this testing thing but thankfully, Karan (Malhotra) is such a confident person himself that he always stood his ground."
Like any son in the world, Ranbir Kapoor also misses his father, late Rishi Kapoor a lot, and in an interview with News 18, his doting mother and veteran actress, Neetu Kapoor, talked about the same. Opening up about how Ranbir still has his dad, Rishi Kapoor's picture as a screensaver on his smartphone, the doting mother admitted that he tries to be strong all the time. The doting mother had explained:
"Ranbir misses him a lot. His mobile screensaver still has Rishi's photo. There are days when I see tears in his eyes but he stays strong."
For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor's upcoming film, Shamshera, will be released on the big screen on July 22, 2022.
