Love is in the air for one of the handsome hunks of the small screen, Sharad Malhotra! Sharad is living his ‘happily ever after’ with the love of his life, who is now his wife, Ripci Bhatia. The two had tied the knot on April 20, 2019, following two wedding ceremonies- first, a Sikh wedding based on Anand Karaj rituals and then, a Hindu wedding. Their wedding was undoubtedly a fairytale affair.
It is also to be mentioned here that Sharad was previously in a relationship with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress, Divyanka Tripathi and then with Splitsvilla fame, Pooja Bisht. In both of these relationships, everyone had speculated that he would be getting married, but destiny had something else in store for him and then, he finally ‘decided on forever’ with Ripci. In an interview with the same portal, Sharad Malhotra had spoken about his wedding and had stated, “I am a bit nervous, but that’s obvious. In the last 12 years, I have got married seven or eight times on screen, but this is going to be real. So, I’d say, I am more excited now (laughs). My parents are also very happy. What more could I ask for? My mother and sister have already started planning for the functions. Since Ripci is a Sikhni, there will be dholwallahs playing at our wedding." In the same interaction, he has also spoken about his honeymoon plans and was quoted as saying, “While I love the hills, Ripci loves the sea. So, we are yet to finalise our honeymoon destination (laughs). After the wedding, I’ll be back to work. Maybe, we will plan something in the next few months."
In another interaction with the Bombay Times, Sharad had talked about his wife, Ripci and dealing with heartbreaks. The Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki actor had retorted, “When I was introduced to Ripci, I had just come out of a relationship and was going through a difficult phase. Initially, we would just exchange occasional pleasantries on social media. It was only after Ganpati last year that we got talking on the phone, which was after my last relationship ended. What connected us probably was our fear of marriage. In fact, Ripci travelled the world for six years to avoid marriage, as the pressure on a girl at her age was mounting. I would have loved to do that, too, but I was constantly working. It’s only recently that our families got involved after we spoke over the phone for a few days. Both of us instantly realised that this is it and decided to take the plunge.” (You May Like: Dipika Kakar Cooked Delicious Eid Meal For Shoaib Ibrahim, Sister-In-Law Showers Her With Praises)
Revealing his love story with Ripci, Sharad was quoted as saying to a media portal, "When I was introduced to Ripci, I had just come out of a relationship and was going through a difficult phase. Initially, we would just exchange occasional pleasantries on social media. It was only after Ganpati last year that we got talking on the phone, which was after my last relationship ended. Both of us instantly realised that this is it and decided to take the plunge."
On the work front, we can expect Sharad hit the silver screen soon as he himself had once shared, "I have done two Bollywood films already. But at the moment, I am enjoying my television phase. I am getting a lot of adulation and appreciation for my work. But just like every actor wishes to be a part of the film industry, even I am open to doing more Bollywood films. I am also getting a lot of good offers in terms of short films and web series. I am sure films will happen eventually. But I will be choosy about projects now. I am also open to working in the Bengali film or television industry. It is flourishing a lot these days. I have been part of the Hindi television industry for 12 years now, so it is very difficult to take out time now if I want to work in the Bengali industry. I have got offers earlier and would love to do a Bengali film. I also know the Bengali language very well, so I am sure that will help me if I get any work opportunity here."
