Shark Tank India 2: Namita Thapar Slams An Entrepreneur For Promoting Weight Loss Without Exercise

The second season of India’s first business reality show, Shark Tank India is picking up TRPs with its recent episodes. As per the viewers, the recent episodes of Shark Tank India 2 have been quite interesting in comparison to the earlier episodes, which were slammed for being a daily soap.

Namita Thapar slams an entrepreneur’s product which makes people lose weight without doing exercise

In the latest episode, one of the investors on the show, Namita Thapar, who is the director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, looked absolutely furious after an entrepreneur presented a business plan that makes people lose weight without doing any sort of physical exercise. In the video shared by the makers of the show on Sony television’s official Instagram handle, we can see an entrepreneur making her pitch in front of the sharks and stating that their clients have given up on their previous diet charts and restarted it after opting for their product.

The pitch didn’t go well with Namita Thapar, who has a lot of expertise in food and nutrition. As a result, she immediately reacted to the pitcher and shared her views about the same. The businesswoman clearly stated that she didn’t like the word ‘restart’ and added how she doesn’t believe in her product’s concept of making people lose weight without any exercise. Namita admitted that it is fundamentally wrong and admitted that weight loss completely depends on a person’s lifestyle. She said:

"Ye jo apne word use kiya hain na ‘restart’, isi mein problem hein. Ye jo aap bata rahi he na usse mein fundamentally agree nahi kar rahi hoon, ki no exercise… humare saath aate he, restart karte he… Let’s spread the message ki weight loss ek lifestyle change se hota he."

Further in her heated response to the entrepreneur, Namita Thapar also added that our country is already leading the charts in terms of people having diabetes and blood pressure problems. Thus, in such a country, whenever she sees products like this that claim to make people lose weight even without doing exercise or lifestyle changes, it makes her angry. At the end of her feedback, Namita told the entrepreneur to stop misleading the country. She explained:

"Aur hum diabetes capital, blood pressure capital ban rahe hain because log ye sab gimmicky cheezein kar rahe hain aur apne health ke saath mess kar rahe hain. Toh mujhe ye sab sunke thoda sa, I am sorry but gussa jaise aa jata hain. I think we need to stop misguiding the country."
