Kareena Kapoor Khan's radio show, What Women Want, had her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore, as the first guest. The veteran actress has been a part of films for decades. Her family members, such as her son, Saif Ali Khan, and granddaughter, Sara Ali Khan, apart from bahu, Kareena, have made a tremendous mark in the movie industry. Sharmila is very fond of Kareena and, once on her show, could not stop praising her daughter-in-law.
It was in October 2012 when Saif and Kareena got married and the two were blessed with Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. On Kareena's show, What Women Want, she asked her mother-in-law to reveal one thing she thinks Kareena is good at and one thing she believes can improve. Kareena asked Sharmila to tell the world about the bond that they share, as they have always kept it low-key. In the words of Sharmila:
"I like your consistency. I like the way you keep in touch because I know that if I sent you a message, you will invariably answer. Saif would, not Soha. Soha most certainly won’t reply. I mean, she will take time, but you will reply."
Sharmila surely could not stop praising her daughter-in-law and liked the quality of Kareena's always swift reply to text messages. She also shared that Kareena looks after her well whenever she visits them. Sharmila had said that if she came to the house, Kareena would ask her what she would like to eat, and she gets whatever she wanted. Sharmila credited Kareena for having the Kapoor trait, as they are known to keep a wonderful table.
It was in 2011 that Saif's dad, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, passed away due to respiratory failure. For the entire family, it was a tough period, but Sharmila remembered how Kareena stood by them like a rock. Sharmila has always appreciated Bebo for being there for the entire family. They have a mother-daughter bond more than that of a saas bahu. Sharmila said:
"I have seen you when Tiger was in the hospital and how you didn’t draw attention to yourself. It so happened that (September) 21st is your birthday and Tiger passed away on the 22nd. You were there and you were just like my children and my family. I really remember that. I have seen you during various stages, and you have been rather wonderful, I must say."
Sharmila, earlier in an interview with Kapil Sibal for his YouTube channel, Dil Se With Kapil Sibal called Kareena's movie, Crew 'absurd beyond belief'. She said the success of the movie at the box office was noteworthy as it was led by female stars like Tabu and Kriti Sanon, apart from Kareena. Sharmila added:

"It is absurd, of course, beyond belief but there are three women pulling off this adventure. One is landing a plane, one is breaking a safe, doing all kinds of things together and the camaraderie between the three is excellent because they say a woman is a woman’s worst enemy, not so here.”
