Shatrughan Sinha's darling daughter, Sonakshi Sinha got married to the love of her life, Zaheer Iqbal in a civil ceremony at the actress’ Bandra apartment on June 23, 2024. Glimpses from the same simply went viral on social media. They got hitched under the Special Marriage Act of 1954, and thus, Sonakshi didn't convert to Zaheer's religion. However, since their wedding, netizens couldn't stop commenting about 'love jihad' on her wedding glimpses, which led to her turning off the comment section of her post related to her marriage.
Now, Shatrughan Sinha took to his official X account and shared unseen glimpses from Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's wedding. In the glimpses, we can spot lovely photos from Sonakshi's reception to various moments, like kanyadaan. In another video, Sonakshi was also seen walking towards the aisle, under the phoolon ka chadar, where Zaheer was waiting for her to sign the papers and get hitched forever.

Despite Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot in an inter-faith wedding, in a video shared by the actress' father, we can see Hindu rituals being performed over there. A pandit was also seen chanting mantras for the kanyadan ritual in the presence of not only Sonakshi's family but also Zaheer's close ones. Sharing the beautiful moments from Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding, Shatrughan wrote:
“With an attitude of gratitude we would like to thank everyone for celebrating with us on our special day seems to be the ‘wedding of the century’ with your warmth, love, congratulatory messages for our darling daughter #SonakshiSinha with #ZaheerIqbal as they start a new chapter in their beautiful journey of their lives.”
As soon as Shatrughan posted the moments along with his loving caption, it triggered the netizens, who yet again started dropping mean comments on the post. A section of netizens mentioned that they are proud to be part of India, where people are living in complete harmony. Moreover, a few netizens found it inspiring that Zaheer was also part of the puja. On the other hand, a few social media users slammed Shatrughan for using the phrase 'wedding of the century'.

Earlier, in an interview with Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha lashed out at those protesting against his daughter Sonakshi’s inter-faith wedding with Zaheer. The doting daddy mentioned that this is all the work unemployed people have. However, his daughter did no wrong in marrying the love of her life. The veteran actor said:
“Anand Bakshi saab has written about such professional protestors, ‘Kucch to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. To this I would like to add, ‘Kehne waale agar bekar, bekaam-kaaj ke ho to kehna hi kaam ban jata hai.’ My daughter has done nothing illegal or unconstitutional. A wedding is a very personal decision between two people; no one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protestors I say – go, get a life. Do something useful with your life. Aur kucch nahi kehna.”
