Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, recently married the man of her dreams, Zaheer Iqbal, in a civil marriage ceremony at the actress’ home. After the intimate wedding bash, the newlywed couple hosted a lavish reception party for their industry colleagues, friends, and family. However, just days after this happy occasion, an ominous incident took place in the Sinha family.
Shatrughan Sinha was hospitalised merely days after Sonakshi’s marriage, stating that he was visiting for his routine checkup. Moreover, just a day ago, the newlywed couple, Sonakshi and Zaheer, was even seen exiting the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. Now, on June 30, 2024, the real reason behind the veteran actor’s hospitalisation surfaced in the media. According to a report by Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha had tripped in his dining hall and hurt his rib region on June 25, 2024, just two days after Sonakshi’s marriage.

The incident unfolded when the veteran actor got up from his sofa, which was placed in the dining room, and tripped over a carpet. Sonakshi somehow managed to hold her father’s hand immediately. Otherwise, the fall could have severely injured him. The family called for medical help, and Shatrughan Sinha even rested for a day. However, the pain in his rib region did not subside.
Hence, their doctor advised them to visit the hospital for tests to determine if there had been any serious internal injury. Shatrughan Sinha has undergone all the tests, and the results show that he does not have any injuries. According to the same report, the veteran actor-turned-politician will be discharged from the hospital on July 1, 2024. Shatrughan Sinha’s best friend, Pahlaj Nihalani, opened up about this incident and said:
“Yes, Shatru ji is in hospital. But he is absolutely fine now. He should be back home by tomorrow evening.”

This incident comes as a bit of a downer for the Sinha family as they recently had not just one but two reasons to celebrate. Earlier, on June 4, 2024, when the Lok Sabha election results were declared, Shatrughan Sinha emerged victorious from West Bengal’s Asansol constituency. And more recently, the veteran actor married off his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha. Despite rumours of discord, he penned an adorable note on his X (formerly Twitter) account for his darling daughter, Sonakshi and said:
“With an attitude of gratitude, we would like to thank everyone for celebrating with us on our special day seems to be the 'wedding of the century' with your warmth, love, congratulatory messages for our darling daughter #SonakshiSinha with #ZaheerIqbal as they start a new chapter in their beautiful journey of their lives.”
