On January 1, 2026, Shatrughan Sinha took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and shared two pictures. The pictures featured him along with his family, including his wife, Poonam Sinha, his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha and his two sons, Luv and Kussh Sinha. Sharing the pictures, the veteran actor wished his fans a Happy New Year. The note shared by him can be read as:

"May 2026 be filled with love, laughter, peace, prosperity and unforgettable moments. Happy New Year!"

However, netizens were quick to notice the absence of Shatrughan’s new son-in-law, Zaheer Iqbal, in the photo dump post. A user wrote, "Damaad nahi dikhayi de raha sir photos mein?" Another user commented, "Why do you leave someone...?"

Recently, Farah Khan paid a visit to Sonakshi Sinha’s house and had a tour of the entire property. During the visit, the filmmaker asked Poonam Sinha about Sonakshi and Zaheer’s relationship. She asked Poonam, "Did you know before the engagement they dated for five years?" In response, Poonam said, "No, that I don’t know." Immediately, Sonakshi said, "Mummy, please don’t lie. You were the first person I told this to. You didn’t tell papa about it." That’s when, Poonam shared a rare glimpse of the family dynamics. She said, "I only got to know about it two years ago, and those two years I used to pacify her dad (Shatrughan Sinha) and make him accept them."

In a recent conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Sonakshi shared details about their first encounter. The duo first met at a party hosted by Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan at his residence, Galaxy Apartments. He expressed her feelings that she felt soon after meeting Zaheer. She revealed that for six or seven years, the two missed each other. She mentioned that it was love at first chat for her when she had a conversation with Zaheer after the Tubelight screening. She was quoted as saying:

"For six or seven years, we kept missing each other. Then one day, we finally met, and I was like - okay, this guy is very confident! He made me laugh, and usually, people get intimidated by me. I don't know why, but his confidence really struck me. After the Tubelight screening, we were sitting in one corner for five hours straight, just talking about everything under the sun. It felt like I had known him forever. It was beautiful - it felt like home. For me, it was love at that first chat. Within a week of knowing him, I told him that I loved him."

However, after seven years of dating, the couple tied the knot on June 23, 2024, in a private ceremony under the Special Marriage Act at the actress’s Mumbai residence. While the ceremony was attended by the couple’s near and dear ones, it was her brothers, Luv and Kussh’s absence that became a topic of discussion for many. In an interview with Money Control, Kussh opened up about the same. He was quoted as saying:

"I'll just put it shortly. I was there. So, you know, whoever has put out that story should have done the fact-checking because I was clearly there."
