Yes, reality show, Bigg Boss 13’s one of the strongest contestants, Shefali Jariwala had made it into our lives with her first-ever song, Kaanta Laga. However, to watch the song, we certainly had to wait for our parents to go out or had to watch it under their parental guidance, but she had definitely made her mark. The actress had a court marriage with the love of her life, Parag Desai on August 12, 2014, and since then, the two have been each other’s support system. Their love was evident with every visit of Parag on the sets of Bigg Boss. The couple is now willing to adopt a baby, and before we take you there, let’s us get back to the times when Shefali had turned the Kaanta Laga girl for us.

In a chat with The Times of India, Shefali opened up about her journey towards the Kaanta Laga song, the payment she received and her father’s reaction to the song. The actress revealed that when she was approached for the song, she was in an engineering college, and belonging to a family of academicians, her father was completely against the song and his daughter being a part of it. The actress said, “I was in college then and I come from a family of academicians, so my parents told me to focus on my studies. But I wanted to do it because I was getting paid for it. I earned Rs 7,000 from that song, and I wanted to see myself on TV.” She later shared that her father was completely against it initially, thus she had first taken her mother into confidence and then they had teamed up to convince her father.
Coming back to the willingness of Shefali and Parag to adopt a child, earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, she had talked about the whole process being very complex and tiring. She had said, "From the moment I have understood the meaning of adoption which was when I was, 10 or 11, I always wanted to adopt a child. It is difficult, especially when you can have your own children. The pressure from the society, from friends and family but Parag and I spoke about it and we want to adopt a girl child. The process is ongoing and pretty tedious. There is a lot of paperwork involved but we are hopeful it will be done soon." In one of the conversations with ETimes, the actress was asked who/what inspired her into taking the brave decision, she had said, "I discussed adopting a baby with Hindustani Bhau inside the Bigg Boss 13 house. I was actually moved by Sunny Leone's decision when she adopted a girl child. I always wanted to adopt a baby girl and after I got married to Parag when we were discussing about starting a family I shared my views with him and he is a very supportive husband."

Shefali also talked about Parag's stand on the same and had added, "He completely stood by the decision and he told me you have to become a mother so whether you give birth to a child or bring him/her home, it will be your decision and I will always support you. There are a lot of children in the world who need home and I think I am in a position where I can give them a secure, good life then why not. I want to give that child a good home, education and a good life because God has given me everything."
