Shefali Jariwala Stopped Believing In Love After Divorce, People Said, 'Kaanta Laga Ladki..Bold Hai'

Shefali Jariwala, one of the famous faces of the entertainment world, said goodbye to the world at the age of 42. Her sudden demise left the entire industry shaken to the core. The reason for the demise hasn't been properly disclosed yet, but it was confirmed by the police that it was a natural death and there was no foul play involved. Shefali's husband, Parag Tyagi was seen breaking down in tears, which is understandable, given the shocking turn of events in his life. Shefali and Parag got married in 2014, and since then, they have exuded power-couple vibes.

Shefali Jariwala once recalled the difficult phase of her life after her divorce from Harmeet Singh

Before Parag Tyagi, Shefali was married to Harmeet Singh. The couple got married in 2004, soon after the Kaanta Laga song proved to be a breakthrough for the actress. However, after 5 years of their marital bliss, the duo parted ways. Shefali often talked about her divorce. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shefali mentioned that when something like divorce happens, it feels like the end of the world. The actress said that it was difficult for her as well, but she could get out of this because she had a strong support system. Shefali said that when she got married and divorced, she was very young and went through a phase in life when people stop believing in love, but it eventually passed. Shefali bared her heart out and said:

"When that happens to you, you think it’s the end of the world, it is difficult, you think ‘what has happened?’ I was so young when I got married and I got divorced. It was very difficult for me but I had a very strong support system – my parents, my friends and everybody – so I could deal with it. And then, there were times when you stop believing in love. You go through that phase where you are like, ‘I don’t think I’ll ever fall in love again’ or ‘I don’t think I’ll ever get into a relationship again, shaadi toh bohot door ki baat hai (marriage is out of the question)’. But it passes.”

Shefali Jariwala shared how people thought the divorce happened because of her

In the same interview, Shefali Jariwala shared how women had been subjected to judgment more often than men. She questioned why a man gets zero quarries if he were to marry 10 times, when a woman would have to face judgements, comments, and questions if she gets divorced or marries twice in her life. She recalled facing judgments, too, after her divorce from Harmeet Singh. The actress said that people told her that she might have done something which caused the divorce, since she was the Kaanta Laga girl, bold as it was assumed. In Shefali Jariwala's words:

"It’s a problem. Why are women subjected to such judgments and men are not? Why is it okay for men to get married ten times and women to not get married twice? Isi ne kuch kiya hoga, isi mein kuch hoga, yeh toh Kaanta Laga ladki hai, yeh bohot bold hai."

Shefali Jariwala talked about mental violence in her previous marriage

Yet, in another interview with The Times of India, Shefali Jariwala talked about her first marriage. She said that not every violence is physical, as mental violence can often be there. The actress said that people would have to understand where he/she had not been appreciated. The actress further shared that while walking away from a toxic relationship isn't easy, she was able to do it because she was independent and making her own money.

Shefali Jariwala's ex-husband, Harmeet Singh expressed his grief over her sudden demise

Harmeet Singh talked to Vickey Lalwani and shared that he was shattered by the news. He further added that he met Shefali at an event, and they had a long conversation, and following this, they were on cordial terms. He also posted a story on IG, where he mourned Shefali's demise, and mentioned that he couldn't be there since he was in Europe. Harmeet further offered condolences to the grieving family of Shefali.
