Shefali Jariwala's death sent shockwaves throughout the entire nation. The nation knew her as 'Kaanta Laga' girl for her bold moves in the 2002 song, when people lived simple lives and were not open to the concept of entertainment. Soon, fans started wondering about the cause of her death. While her friends, family and fans are mourning her unfortunate demise, Shefali's old interview surfaced, wherein she talked about her fake death news right after Kaanta Laga.

Shefali, in a podcast with Paras Chhabra, revealed that in the early 2000 people were less connected and there were landlines phones, which were the prime means of fastest communication. Back in those days, rumours spread like wildfire that Shefali Jariwala died, right after her song, Kaanta Laga. Back in the day, reports claimed that Shefali, who got a huge 'I Love You' tattoo to impress her lover in the music video, died as she got cancer due to it. Shefali said:

"Isne tattoo kiya, isko cancer ho gaya aur woh marr gayi. News channels called me. Tabki fan following kuch aur hi hoti thi. There was no social media at that time. The landlines kept ringing off hook. Arre Shefali Jariwala marr gayi, arre Shefali Jariwala marr gayi... It was the funniest thing ever." 

What happened to Shefali Jariwala

According to a report by NDTV, Shefali had been consuming anti-ageing medicines regularly for the past seven to eight years. It was revealed by Shefali's longtime doctor, who claimed that she visited their clinic in March 2025. The inital finding about Shefali's death revealed that she had a drop in blood pressure which caused sudden cardia arrest on June 27, 2025.

Shefali Jariwala's best friend, Pooja Ghai, revealed details about her passing away

In a recent interview with a journalist, Vickey Lalwani, Shefali's close friend, Pooja Ghai, shared that Shefali had taken an IV drip on the day of her death. She would take vitamin C, as it had become a common practice after recovering from COVID-19. She revealed that they had a beautiful Satya Narayan puja, followed by a regular dinner, and then Shefali asked her to walk the dog. However, he was called up by her helper, and something strange happened as Shefali didn't open her eyes. Talking about it, Pooja said:

"On that day, she did take the drip, the vitamin C. But like I said, it’s a very normal thing to take a vitamin C. I mean, we all take vitamin C, right? I think post-COVID people have just started taking vitamin C as regularly as possible. And vitamin C is something I take as well. So it’s a very normal thing."

Pooja further added that police inquired at the scene and even called the guy who gave her the IV drip was called by the police for his statment and what kind of medicine, Shefali took on the night of her death. She said:

"While I was standing there, the police guys called for the guy who gave her the IV drip to just check what was the medicine that she was taking, and that’s when it was unfolded that she had taken an IV drip."

Shefali's friend, Pooja, also discussed the rumours surrounding her anti-ageing treatment. She stated that it was common in the entertainment industry. Pooja added that it was also common in Dubai. She said:

“It’s so common. In fact, if you walk down the streets here in Dubai, you see multiple vitamin C drips at regular clinics and salons. She was in a profession where she had to be her best, and she was her best. She looked the best."
