Indian cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan is an exceptional player, who has been riding high on the professional front. However, his personal life has not been a bed of roses. Currently, Shikhar is longing to contact his son, Zoravar, ever since his divorce from his ex-wife, Ayesha Mukerji. For the unversed, Dhawan and Ayesha tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed a baby boy, Zoravar, in 2014. However, in the year 2020, their marriage went through a rough patch, and the two filed a divorce in September 2021.
On December 26, 2023, Shikhar Dhawan took to his IG handle and shared a heartfelt birthday post for his son, Zoravar. The loving father shared a screengrab from one of his video calls with his baby boy to mark the latter's birthday. In the picture, Zoravar was seen donning a grey-hued hoodie, whereas Shikhar wore a T-shirt. However, it was the smile on Shikhar's face that spoke volumes about his happiness while talking to his son. However, the cricketer later deleted the post for the reasons best known to him.

Alongside the picture, Shikhar Dhawan penned a long note, expressing his emotions on his son, Zoravar's birthday. In the caption, the cricketer revealed that he has not met his son for a year and has been blocked from everywhere for almost three months. Shikhar further added that he connects with his son through Telepathy and prays for his well-being every day. His note can be read as:
"It's been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I've been blocked from everywhere so posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday. Even if I can't connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you're doing great and growing up nicely. Papa always misses you and loves you. He's always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God. Be naughty but not destructive, be a giver, be humble, compassionate, patient, and strong. Despite not seeing you, I write you messages almost every day, asking about your well-being and daily life, sharing what I'm doing and what's new in my life. Love you loads Zora, Papa."
It was on October 4, 2023, when Shikhar Dhawan was finally granted a divorce from Ayesha Mukerji by the Family Court in the Patiala House complex in Delhi. The judge accepted all the allegations made by Shikhar against his ex-wife in his divorce petition and acknowledged that the cricketer was subjected to mental agony and cruelty by his ex-wife. Considering that Ayesha forced Shikhar to stay away from their son for years, the court even allowed the cricketer to meet his son, Zoravar for a certain duration.

Earlier, in an interview with India Today, Shikhar Dhawan opened up about his failed marriage and admitted that he failed to spot the red flags in his relationship. The cricketer mentioned that if he would ever marry again, he would make a wiser choice because he has learned from his past mistakes. In his words:
"I failed because the final decision is the person's own. I don't point fingers at others. I failed because I was not aware of that field. The things I talk about cricket today, I wouldn't have been aware of the same 20 years back. It comes with experience. Right now my divorce case is going on. Tomorrow, if I want to marry again, I will be much more wiser in that field. I'll know what kind of girl I need; someone whom I can spend my life with."
