Popular actress, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had tied the knot with a British-Indian businessman, Raj Kundra on November 22, 2009. The lovebirds are proud parents of two beautiful children named, Viaan Raj Kundra and Samisha Shetty Kundra. Since their wedding, Raj showered Shilpa with expensive gifts, starting from a 20-carat diamond ring to an apartment in Burj Khalifa to a blue Lamborghini. But the Kundra family’s world had turned upside down when Raj Kundra was arrested in July 2021 for allegedly producing and distributing pornographic content. Now, Shilpa Shetty has opened up about coping with the controversy.
For the unversed, a five-month-long intensive investigation had claimed that it was a porn racket that had shot and distributed adult content over subscription-based apps and websites. However, Raj was granted bail in September 2021, and he had denied all the allegations against him. Moreover, Shilpa had also debunked the divorce rumours with Raj Kundra and had requested her fans to refrain from commenting on half-baked information. To support her hubby Shilpa had also tweeted a quote by Winston Churchill and had written:
“The truth is inconvertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is”.

After 14 years of sabbatical from acting, Shilpa Shetty had made a comeback with the OTT release, Hungama 2. Now, the actress is all set to grace the silver screen with her upcoming film, Nikamma, in which she played the character of a superhero. However, during a recent media interaction, Shilpa was asked to address her husband, Raj Kundra’s pornography controversy and how she was dragged in the same. Answering this, Shilpa seemed upset and retorted that she would avoid commenting on the case but would talk about the challenging phase of her life. In her words:
“I think we are here to celebrate a new beginning. For now, let’s talk about my director Sabbir (Khan) and actors who have worked really hard on the movie — Abhimanyu and Shirley. This is not about me or my life. So, if it was pertinent to the movie, I would have answered that question.”
Further in the conversation, Shilpa shared that the last two years i.e, 2022 and 2021 were difficult for her and her family. She said that those years were also a nightmare for many people as the world was going through a pandemic. Shilpa can be quoted as saying:
“Talking about going through a difficult phase, yes, we’ve all in our lives been through (a) difficult phase. Last two years have not just been difficult for me, but a lot of people. The film industry in general (has gone through a lot), because films have been ready and they’ve been in the can, not being able to see the light of day as people couldn’t come to the theatres.”

In the same interaction, Shilpa said that the last two years had made her a stronger woman in life. Like she would play a character of a superhero in the film, Nikamma, Shilpa urges everyone to see the positive side of their life and be a superhero. Mentioning that she had ‘braved the storm’, she said:
“So, let’s focus on the good. Like you saw my avatar in the movie, rising above everything and playing a ‘superwoman’, I think we all have played this very strong character in our real lives. Many of us don’t talk about it. We’ve all been very strong and we’ve braved the storm, and I think it is time to celebrate newer beginnings and positivity.”
We wish more power to Shilpa Shetty and her family!
