Shilpa Shetty had met her prince charming in London-based businessman, Raj Kundra. After a dreamy proposal in Paris, Raj and Shilpa embarked on their happily-ever-after journey on November 22, 2009. In 2012, the couple embraced parenthood and welcomed their baby boy, Viaan Raj Kundra. They completed their family by welcoming their baby girl, Samisha Shetty Kundra in 2020 via surrogacy.
The year 2021 turned out to be the most testing phase for Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra as the latter was arrested by the Mumbai Police for his alleged involvement in pornography. But the actress had maintained her dignity by keeping mum, without maligning her husband or his family. On their 13th wedding anniversary, Shilpa penned an adorable wish for her man.

November 22, 2022, marked 13 years of marital bliss for Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. And to wish her cookie, Raj, Shilpa took to her IG handle and posted some unseen romantic glimpses of them from their various vacations. Along with the Reel, Shilpa penned a heartfelt note for him which can be read as:
“13 years, Cookie, whoa! (and not counting). Thank you for sharing this journey with me in this lifetime and making it so beautiful. You, me, Us…That’s all I need. Happy Anniversary to US, Cookie.”

In Pinkvilla’s talk show, No More Secrets, Shilpa Shetty revealed how Raj had tried to woo her. Talking about the same, Shilpa stated that Raj had sent her three Versace bags and was constantly trying to give her hints. Even though Shilpa was planning to settle down, she had called Raj and asked him to stop wooing her because she was not at all interested in shifting her base from Mumbai and settling down in London. It was at that point when Raj had given her his Mumbai address, and the two ended up having their first date.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Shilpa talked about the difficult time for her family after Raj’s arrest and how she had overcome it. Stating that even during the whole fiasco, her kids, Viaan and Samisha were the purposes of her life. In her words:
"I have always believed that in life, you have to find a purpose. Even in the chaos, my purpose was my children and will always be them. Stepping out in difficult times, with a brave front, to go back to work was only to show my kids, [especially my son] because he is at an age where he understands things."
