The night of July 19, 2021, had brought a storm in the life of actress, Shilpa Shetty Kundra as her husband, Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai police in an alleged case of creating pornographic films through a mobile application. In an earlier statement, the Mumbai police had shared that they have enough evidence against the businessman, and that had led to his arrest.
For the unversed, Shilpa Shetty had tied the knot with the business tycoon, Raj Kundra in the year 2009. The duo shares a lovely bond with each other and often takes to their IG handles to express their love for each other. While Shilpa Shetty Kundra's lifestyle and her lavish home have always made it to the headlines, this time there is bigger trouble awaiting the duo.

On July 23, 2021, the Mumbai Police had raided Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty Kundra's house in Juhu and recorded Shilpa's statement. A report in the Times Now Digital suggests that a source close to the police revealed that Shilpa denied her connections with the Hotshots app, and she even mentioned that there is a difference between erotica and porn.
The source also revealed that the Dhadkan actress even supported her husband, Raj Kundra and denied his involvement in making adult movies and said, he was not involved in making 'porn content'. The report also suggested that after raiding their Juhu residence, the police have seized a hard disk and a computer.

The officials also probed her for resigning from the post of director in Viaan Industries, a venture of her husband, Raj Kundra. A source close to the investigation team told ETimes, "The reason Shilpa has come under the scanner is that she resigned from the director’s position at Viaan Industries."
On July 20, 2021, the Mumbai police informed the media that they had arrested 11 people together, including Raj Kundra in the alleged making of pornographic films. The Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale, had said, "He (Raj Kundra) appears to be the key conspirator. We have sufficient evidence regarding this."

Raj Kundra's jail custody has been extended till July 27, 2021.
