Shilpa Shirodkar was last seen in the movies back in the 2000s. The former actress then went abroad to begin a fresh new career, worked in a salon as a hairdresser, and then also did a corporate job. Shilpa shared how her marriage, motherhood, and work worked, revealing how she reworked her journey and proved that life after being famous could take a new form. Shilpa had no shame in admitting that when she told her husband to make her resume, the former actress was fine with him writing that she had failed the SSC.
Shilpa sat down for an interview with Gauahar Khan and remembered her life in New Zealand when she was away from movies. Shilpa wanted to keep herself engaged, and for the same, did a hairdressing course and got connected with the world of beauty. Shilpa even shared of working in a salon for a brief amount of time and was fine taking the spotlight away from the glamorous world of Bollywood. Shilpa recollected:

Shilpa thought of valuing her relationship with her husband at that time, and for that reason, she went away from her salon job and focused on her married life. However, she was not ready to be doing nothing, and when her husband asked her what she wanted to do, she told him to make her CV. Shilpa recollected:
"Make my resume.” He asked, “What should I put in it?” and she said, “Don’t lie—just put the truth, even SSC fail and my film work."
Shilpa wanted to experiment whether she would get work with her poor qualifications. To her surprise, the turning point came when the Guns Of Banaras star applied for a couple of jobs just for fun, and it was interesting to note that on the same day, Shilpa came home with two appointment letters in her hands.
Shilpa had taken up a job as a credit controller back at Dun & Bradstreet, and life was going on for her. However, when Shilpa was working, she found out that she was pregnant as she had signs of feeling tired as well as acidity. Shilpa laughed it off but shared:

"I joined as a credit controller at Dun & Bradstreet, and one day I told my friend, ‘I feel tired all the time and have acidity.’ She said, ‘You’re pregnant!’ I laughed it off but took a test. When I saw the two lines, I was stunned. My husband was waiting and when I told him, he jumped with joy. Our life changed from that moment."
