Shiney Ahuja Looks Unrecognisable At The Age Of 50, He Was Sentenced To Seven Years Of Jail

Shiney Ahuja was one of the most loved actors in the early 2000s. He made a name for himself with his performances in films like Gangster, Life In A Metro, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Woh Lamhe. However, his career was on a full flight when it crashed down in 2009 after he was embroiled in a legal controversy. His flourishing career ended, and he left the limelight as he was accused of raping his 19-year-old maid.

Recently, we stumbled upon Shiney Ahuja's photos circulating on the internet. In the photo, Shiney was dressed up in a grey and white-hued sweatshirt. He wore it with a pair of jeans. He looked unrecognisable, it seems like he has stopped taking care of his physique, which he was known for. 

In another photo, Shiney was dressed up in a fitted black-hued t-shirt with matching black pants. His face looked fuller with unkempt hair. He was seen smiling for the camera and giving a thumbs-up. 

Earlier, a Reddit post shared photos of Shiney Ahuja with some fans. His fans revealed that he has shifted to the Philippines permanently. One user wrote, "This was in 2021. He has permanently moved to the Philippines." A second netizen commented, "Yeah someone had mentioned here in 2022 that he had moved to the Philippines and was doing some garment business, it is absurd that there is a page asking justice for him."

For the unversed, Shiney's life and career crashed down in 2009 as he was accused of raping his 19-year-old domestic help. The case left the entire nation in a state of shock. The allegations ended Shiney's flourishing career as he went through media trials and public scrutiny. Later, he was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by a Mumbai court in 2011. However, he continued to claim his innocence. Not many know that the victim had even retracted her statement, but it had left irreparable damage to Shiney's life and career.

After a few years of court trials, Shiney attempted to revive his once-promising career, but his dream was shattered. The industry, which once showered love on him, had turned its back on him. Even during the film's promotion, Shiney stayed away from the media, which seemed to be a way of avoiding uncomfortable press interactions. The director, Anees Bazmee, stated that the actor was not in India at the time. He is currently residing in Manila, Philippines. During his tough times, his wife, Anupam Pandey, stayed by his side and helped him navigate the legal ordeal.
