CID, a fans' favourite crime show, is the longest-running crime show in India. The trio, including Shivaji Satam as 'ACP Pradyuman', Dayanand Shetty as 'Sr. Inspector Daya', and Aditya Srivastava as 'Sr. Inspector Abhijeet' is the heart of the show. However, the tragic character end of Shivaji Satam has left fans heartbroken. Soon after Shivaji Satam left the iconic show, Parth Samthaan made an entry as ‘ACP Ayushman’. But now, Sony Entertainment Television has released a new promo that has hinted towards the return of the iconic character, 'ACP Pradyuman', played by Shivaji Satam. Yes, you read it right. Soon, Shivaji Satam will rejoin the iconic show.

The iconic character, 'ACP Pradyuman', is fans' favourite due to some famous dialogues like ‘Kuch toh gadbad hai’ and ‘Daya darwaza tod do’. After a tragic exit from the show, Shivaji Satam is all set to make a grand re-entry. The newly released promo of CID Season 2 shows Shivaji, a.k.a 'ACP Pradyuman,’ having a serious conversation with Parth, a.k.a ‘ACP Ayushman’. This new promo has put a full stop to the ongoing buzz regarding whether Shivaji’s character will return back to the show or not. Soon, fans will see 'ACP Pradyuman’ on their favourite crime show.

The ongoing buzz related to Shivaji Satam’s return to the show as 'ACP Pradyuman'

CID 2 has been in the spotlight, since the Shivaji’s tragic exit from the show due to a bomb blast. There has been an ongoing buzz for some time that there are chances that Shivaji would return back to the show as ‘ACP Pradyuman’. In a post made by Shivaji Satam on Instagram, his iconic dialogue ‘Kuch toh gadbad hai’ just fuelled the buzz surrounding his return. Later, Parth Samanthan shared a behind-the-scenes video on social that featured Shivaji, further sparking the ongoing buzz.

Shivaji Satam earlier shared that he didn’t know about his character’s death

Just before Shivaji’s exit from the show was made public, Shivaji was asked whether he knew about his character's end in the show. In an interview with the Bombay Times, Shivaji said that he had no clue about his track end in the show. He also shared that if it was his permanent end from the show, he was also okay with it. Speaking of the same, Shivaji said:

"I have no clue about this. I have taken a break for sometime and the makers know what lies ahead in the show. I have learnt to take everything in my stride and if my track is over, I am okay with it. However, I have not been told whether my track is over or not! As of now, I am not shooting for the show."

The iconic crime show, CID, was first premiered on January 21, 1998. Since then, the show has been a central part of the 90s kids. After the completion of 1,547 episodes, CID Season 1 came to an end on October 27, 2018. Then, the fan’s favourite show made a comeback and premiered its first episode of Season 2 on December 21, 2024. However, the new season of CID will not feature 'Inspector Fredricks' played by Dinesh Phadnis. For the unversed, on December 5, 2023, Dinesh left for the heavenly abode at the mere age of 53 due to multi-organ failure.
