Shoaib Akhtar is hands-down one of the most decorated bowlers in the history of world cricket. Although he became famous worldwide for his exceptional pace, he had a rare combination of swagger and talent. At the peak of his career, no one could come closer to his stature in world cricket. It was back in the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup in Pakistan's match against England when Shoaib Akhtar delivered his career's fastest delivery of 161.3 kmph (100.23 mph). Renowned by the moniker of 'Rawalpindi Express', Shoaib Akhtar is the fastest bowler in the history of world cricket.
Apart from his bowling expertise, Shoaib Akhtar was also renowned for his intimidating personality. The bowler used to scare opponents with his mere stare and was never bullied by anyone. Whether we talk about Australia or West Indies, Shoaib Akhtar never let anybody dominate him in terms of the mental game as he was always one step ahead in making mind moves. Even after so many years of his retirement, Pakistan can still not produce another bowler like him, which speaks volumes about the legacy he had left behind.
Shoaib Akhtar's professional career is a case study that has been studied, published, and discussed many times over the decades. However, his personal life is still unknown even to some of his die-hard fans. This is because Shoaib hardly talks about his personal life in public. The former cricketer prefers to live a low-key life, far from the reach of shutterbugs. For the uninitiated, Shoaib Akhtar is happily married to a stunning lady named Rubab Khan.
The couple got married in 2014, and they're parents to three children, Mohammad Mikaeel Ali, Mohammad Mujaddid Ali, and Nooreh Ali Akhtar. Talking about Rubab Khan's family or professional details, there is nothing much more available about it in the public domain. However, according to some reports, Rubab Khan was born on June 23, 1994, in Haripur district, Pakistan. She is the daughter of a renowned Pakistani businessman, Mushtaq Khan. She reportedly completed her education in Abbottabad.
Former Indian cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar and his wife, Rubab Khan, have an age difference of 18 years. When the couple got married in 2014, Shoaib was 39, while Rubab was 21 and the former cricketer received slight trolling for their huge age gap. Shoaib and Rubab welcomed their first child, Mohammad Mikaeel Ali, in 2016, and at that time, the former cricketer was 41. However, when Rubab gave birth to a third child in March 2024 at the age of 30, her husband, Shoaib was 48 years old. The news of Shoaib becoming a father in his late 40s once again created a stir on the internet.

Both the mothers were happy with the idea of Shoaib and Rubab's marriage. Hence, they proposed the same to their respective husbands. Both the men liked it, and it is how both families had fixed their marriage. Once, in an old interview with The Friday Times, Shoaib opened up about his wedding story and said:
"My parents arranged my wedding for me, my wife is much younger than me. Our mothers had met during a hajj trip. I never announced I was getting married. You can get married in any way as you want but I wanted a simple wedding. I have two sons. My wife is open minded but conservative and does not want to be in the public eye. I encourage her but she doesn't want to be seen in public."
