Dipika Kakar's Liver Tumour Surgery Took 14 Hours To Complete, Shoaib Shares Update, 'She's In ICU'

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim have been going through a tough phase in their lives. For the unversed, it was about a month ago, when Shoaib revealed the news of Dipika being diagnosed with a tennis-ball-sized liver tumour. The couple was worried whether the tumour was cancerous, and the initial tests revealed that there had been no signs of cancer, but later, the developed results revealed that it was second-stage malignant. Dipika's tumour-removal surgery was about to take place last week, which was rescheduled to yesterday, i.e. on June 3, 2025. Now, Shoaib shared an update on the same, as the operation is complete.

Dipika Kakar went through liver tumour removal surgery which took 14 hours to complete

Taking to his IG handle a while ago, Shoaib Ibrahim shared a note, wherein he revealed that Dipika Kakar's operation took place yesterday. He apologised to his fans for not being able to share the update earlier, which he couldn't do, given the situation of his family. In the post, Shoaib revealed that the surgery was a long one. He said that his wife was in the OT for 14 hours, and everything went well. Shoaib shared that Dipika is currently in ICU, and she is in pain, but is stable and doing fine. He further thanked his and Dipika's fans for the love and blessings they shared with the couple. He promised to share another update as soon as Dipika is out of the ICU.

When Dipika Kakar talked about her cancerous liver tumour

It was on May 25, 2025, when Dipika took to her IG handle and shared her first-ever note about her cancerous liver tumour. She stated that the two weeks had been really tough for her. The actress revealed that she first was having some strong aches in her upper stomach, which started getting so intensified that she had to go to the hospital. Later, tests and scans showcased that she had a tennis-ball-sized tumour in her liver, which was later confirmed as second-stage malignant. The actress shared that even though the road is rocky, she is keeping up with her hopes and trying to be positive with the help of her fans and family members.

Later, Shoaib and Dipika dropped a video where the actress revealed while 'cancer' in itself is a scary word, doctors have assured her that at the stage she is currently in, her illness could be curable. She then talked about Ruhaan, and mentioned that her toddler even got to know that his mum was not fine, and as she has stopped feeding him, he just comes once or so a day to ask her to feed him, but still then, he could perceive that something is not right.
