Announcing it on Twitter, Shoaib wrote, “Thank you from the bottom of our heart to everyone for the wishes from Sania and I, and our families. Our son’s name is Izhaan #BabyMirzaMalik”. Izhaan in Arabic means genius or obedience (to God).
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the baby is healthy and weighs 3.5 kg. Sania was admitted to the Rainbow Children’s Hospital & Birthright by Rainbow at Banjara Hills on Monday. Reportedly, according to a hospital source, Sania and Shoaib have sought complete privacy at the 250-bedded children’s hospital and not even their close relatives are allowed on the floor. The doting husband Shoaib has been with his wife ever since she was admitted, comforting her and enjoying their precious moments together.
In a recent interview, when Sania was asked whether she and Shoaib have zeroed down any names for the baby, she had said, “We have, mutually, shortlisted the names without a battle!” She further added that they are least bothered by the gender of their baby, “And obviously if it is only my child, I would hope, pray and wish for it to be a healthy child. It doesn't matter if it is a boy or a girl, which seems to be very important for a lot of people. Besides that, to believe in yourself and always know that you have the freedom to be whoever you are. At this point, with regard to my baby, all I truly hope, pray and wish is, for it to be healthy, regardless of the gender.”
Earier, Sania and Shoaib released a statement announcing their pregnancy, and had said, “We are soon to become parents. Having thought about it for a while, we both felt right now is the correct time to start a family. When we found out, we were ecstatic and couldn’t wait to give out this news to our fans and well-wishers. We are very excited to enter this new phase of our lives and look forward to our journey as parents.” (Also Read: Sania Mirza Becomes A Mother And Her Family Excitedly Welcomes 'Baby Mirza Malik' Into This World)

If it's a boy, please call him Ghalib. Always wanted to meet Mirza Ghalib #BabyMirzaMalik” To this, Sania reverted, “Haha thanks Shirish.. will definitely that into consideration .. I’ve always wanted to meet him too”.
In a throwback interview, sharing how they are preparing for the upcoming sleepless nights and changing diapers of their child, Sania had remarked, “I have already spent quite a few sleepless nights due to the discomforts I feel during the third trimester of pregnancy, though changing diapers may be a new chore which I am actually looking forward to!” She went on to say, “I think motherhood prepares one automatically and very naturally for the most important phase in a woman’s life. A lot has changed in the last few months and I know a lot more will change in the coming days, but most of it has happened without me making too much of a conscious effort.”
Sharing the best part about her pregnancy, Sania shared, “Now, I’m just giving my body the rest it needs and waking up whenever I feel like — usually between 9 am and 10 am — so that I feel refreshed. Since sleep at night is hard to come by, especially in the third trimester, there is no point in stressing yourself out in the morning.” (Also Read: Priyanka Chopra Madly Shakes Her Legs With Her Mom And Mother-In-Law In Her Bridal Shower)
