So cute, right? A while back, Sania Mirza posted two adorable pictures, 5 days after the birth of Izhaan Mirza Malik, watching a cricket match played by his daddy Shoaib, and the other, of three white sports shoes. Sharing the pictures, the newbie mommy captioned it as, “So it’s been 5 days since we came into this world. Me as a mother and my little Izhaan as my son. We’ve even watched Baba play some cricket together since we’ve arrived it truly is the biggest match, tournament achievement I’ve ever won or had and there is no feeling or blessing that can be greater than this..”
Sania Mirza had further written, “I finally have gotten sometime after this overwhelming feeling to get online and check the messages and love we have received. Shoaib and I feel truly blessed and humbled with the wishes and love that us as parents and Izhaan have received. Thank you to each and every one of you ..we love you right back! Love Sania ,Shoaib and Izhaan @realshoaibmalik #Allhamdulillah.” (Must Read: Madhuri Dixit's Birthday Wish For Her Son Arin Is Pure Love, She Cannot Believe How Time Flies)
The first time, Shoaib Malik and his star wife, Sania Mirza announced the news of their pregnancy in their own unique way, we all were curious about the baby’s surname, which comprised of both of the parent’s surname, ‘Mirza Malik’. Speaking about the same in a 2018 interview with Gulf News, the star cricketer was quoted as saying, “We discussed this in the beginning and we both came up with it together. It’s not a move, but a statement. My family history and my family name comes with a lot of honour, which I celebrate with pride. It should be the same for Sania. Being a husband or a wife or a mother or a father should not change that for either. Having a shared surname is in line with how we went about when we got married: Sania Mirza remained Sania Mirza and was not changed to Sania Malik.”
Shoaib Malik also spoke about how important paternity leave is for parents to ensure a healthy work-life balance. He had shared, “The simple answer: Yes, of course but it’s not that simple. In cricket or any sport for that matter, a break of any kind may not be a choice. There is no perfect setting to “work-life-balance” as it’s very competitive. A friend of mine had a paid three-month paternity leave and I wish I could do that”.
Further talking about parenting, Shoaib Malik had shared, “Professional athletes who represent their country at the highest level have a certain lifestyle: being away from home and family, loads of travelling and continuous training. All this is time-consuming. But it would be unfair to the child if their parents can’t give them their time. I retired from my favourite format (Test) about two years ago, and one of the reasons was to spend more time with my family. I am planning to retire from the one-day format next year after the World Cup, which will allow me to be around my child, who will be around nine months or so then. I plan to play International Cricket until 2020, let’s see”. (Also Read: Taimur And Inaaya Jumping Crazily On Trampoline, Look At Her Funny Smile After Falling Down [VIDEOS])
