India's star batter, Shreyas Iyer, has been down with a ruptured spleen along with a rib cage injury. This took place recently when the third and final ODI match of Team India took place against Australia in Sydney. Shreyas, at the moment, is stable and has been out of the hospital. Now, Team India's captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has shared a major update related to Shreyas' health amid reports of BCCI making special arrangements to send Shreyas' sister, Shresta, to Sydney to be next to her brother.
According to a report by ETimes, India's T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav, shared the latest update on the scary injury the cricketer faced, followed by his hospitalisation in Sydney. According to a report by ETimes, Surya shared that Shreyas has been recovering well and he had spoken to him on the call. The cricketer shared that it was unfortunate that such an incident took place with Shreyas, but he is being monitored. Suryakumar shared that Shreyas did not have a phone when he called him first, and in the interview shared:
"Phone pe baat hoh rahi hai. He's recovering well, replying to us on phone that means he is doing absolutely fine. The doctors are taking care of him. We spoke to him at least on the first day when we got to know that he had an injury. I called him first. Then I found out that he did not have a phone. So I called the physio, Kamlesh. He told me that he is stable."

Suryakumar noted how he did not know that Shreyas was actually looking good despite having a ruptured spleen. For the unversed, according to the same report by the publication, a special arrangement has been made by the BCCI that will help Shreyas' sister, Shreshta, to fly to Sydney and be next to her brother and help him. Suryakumar also shared that there is a doctor with Shreyas all the time and that things look fine. In his words:
"I mean, he is good. He is talking. Everything is normal. He said that he will take care of himself for a few more days. But he has been replying, talking to everyone, so it is good. On the first day, I don’t know how, but he was looking good. We have been talking for two days now. He has been replying. If he is replying on the phone, it means he is stable."

Suryakumar also added that Shreyas' health has to be monitored for the next few days, but there is nothing to worry about. Shreyas was down with a spleen injury when he was taking a catch during India's third ODI match against Australia. The incident occurred when Shreyas made the diving catch but landed on his ribs and also elbows. BCCI's secretary, Devajit Saikia, also shared that the medical team did their best to help Shreyas and revealed:
"The BCCI has done its best to help Shreyas out. The BCCI’s doctor (Rizwan) is totally focused on Iyer’s treatment and recovery there. Shreyas has been put up in the best hospital in Sydney (St Vincent’s Hospital)."
