Shrima Rai Reacts To Aishwarya's Fans Attacking Her And Comparing Her To Actress '..My Calling Card'

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's sister-in-law, Shrima Rai grabbed a whole lot of attention last year, but for all the negative reasons. It began with one of Shrima's IG stories, wherein a gift to her from Aishwarya's nanad, Shweta Bachchan, was featured. Such a post triggered Aishwarya's fanbase amid family feud buzz, leaving them worried if Shrima and Shweta have bonded. Following this, Shrima's replies to her fans' question on why she doesn't post the actress' photo raised eyebrows, and people ended up trolling the former. Now, Shrima has broken her silence about the same.

Shrima Rai recalls being hurt as trolls started attacking her out of context

Shrima Rai recently sat for an interview with Mohsinaa Ahmad on her YouTube channel, wherein she revealed how several things about her started being written out of context, which led her to feel that she was the new character of Indian dramas. Shrima said that she was left immensely hurt by the same, as people were ignoring her accomplishments, which she has done all on her own and with hard work. Shrima also expressed her hurt in the way her name was dragged into a controversy.

Shrima Rai says she never wanted to be her 'calling card' being connected to someone famous

Shrima stated that she never wanted to be her 'calling card' to be connected to that family, and it was unfair the way her hard work was not being recognised and instead, people were majoring her connection to someone famous. Without taking Aishwarya's name, Shrima said that it could have been different if someone got support from a famous person, but no one can take it away when the other person has done it all on her own. In Shrima's words:

"I didn’t want that to be my calling card and it’s one thing to have the support of whoever you are related to, that’s something else. But if you are doing it on you own and you own that, it’s very unfair for someone to take that away from you without having an interview."

Shrima Rai shares how people painted her as a 'shady character' and drew a comparison unnecessarily

Going further in the interview, Shrima Rai stated how she was being painted as a 'shady character' and people started comparing her. She stated that while there surely is respect for someone's journey, it doesn't give allowance to the trollers and fans so that they can compare that person's journey with someone else. Shrima can be quoted as saying:

"Some trolls started comparing unnecessarily. Like there’s no way you can compare one woman’s journey to another’s journey. There’s no one who is saying to say that that woman hasn’t done what she has done and accomplished amazing amazing things. Of course, respect is there for that but it doesn’t mean you have to disrespect somebody else. Just because you are a fan of that person, doesn’t mean you have to be a troll of this person.”

Earlier, several screenshots from Shrima Rai's IG page made rounds on social media, singing the family feud buzz. In a post, a fan of Aishwarya questioned Shrima why she doesn't post with the actress. It was Shrima's reply that shocked everyone. Replying to the fan, Shrima wrote that Aishwarya's profile, too, doesn't contain any of their photos. Shrima further advised the fan to head to Aishwarya's profile and be satisfied with the exclusive shoots of the actress with her daughter. Another fan mentioned that she didn't know that Shrima was related to Aishwarya. Shrima responded with a 'thank you' and added that she would like to be known by her own name.
