Shweta Bachchan Reacts To Trolls Attacking Her Brother, Abhishek Bachchan, Says, 'It Boils My Blood'

Son of veteran actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan is a brilliant actor. Time and again, he has proved his mettle in acting with films like Bol Bachchan, Ludo, Bob Biswas, The Big Bull, and many others. He is one of the most underrated actors of our generation, who deserves a lot of appreciation for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Apart from his stellar performances, Abhishek Bachchan is also well-known for being a pro in handling the trolls in the most savage way possible. Time and again, some people have targeted him with the meanest of comments, but junior Bachchan handled them with his calm replies. However, now Abhishek's sister, Shweta Bachchan addressed the trolls, who attack her brother for no reason and shared how it affects her.

On the latest episode of Navya’s podcast, What The Hell Navya, during her conversation with her daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda and mother, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan opened up about her brother, Abhishek Bachchan. She shared that she feels protective towards Abhishek as people constantly criticise him and added that the way people attack him is nasty. She can be heard saying:

“Yes, but it's nasty. They attack him all the time, and it's really upsetting for your family member, that really boils my blood. I don't really care about any of these, that's bothering you guys, but this really upsets me. I don't like when they do it to him because, you know what, it's not fair…you don’t do that! Just…I don't wanna discuss it. That really bugs me maybe because he is my younger brother and I am all protective.”

Further in the conversation, Shweta shared that people compare Abhishek with their father, Amitabh Bachchan all the time and said that it is not fair. Mentioning that she doesn't feel bad about her dad getting trolled, the doting sister said that people shouldn't disregard Abhishek's achievements just because he is not as successful as their father. In her words:

“I don't feel it for Nana (Amitabh Bachchan)…because Nana is…but I feel it for Mamu (Abhishek Bachchan) because he is constantly compared to something which is incomparable. It is like you are comparing someone to something, that is larger than anything. How do you expect anyone to match up? That cannot be your whole life. You have to have success that is not always measured, right? I don’t think it’s fair, it’s nasty. So, out of 10 if you score like 8, people will say ‘oh but his father scored 10.’ But, he scored 8. You just completely disregard someone’s achievements because someone else in his family has done it better. That doesn’t mean he is any less, that I think is disgusting.”

On March 23, 2022, Amitabh Bachchan had penned a blog and expressed his emotions for his son, Abhishek Bachchan. He had revealed that he felt proud to be recognised as Abhishek's father. Talking about inheritance, Big B quoted some lines from his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan's poem, Vasiyatnama. An excerpt from the same could be read as:

"Such pride in the progeny, or as they call it humorously --my progress report! The greatest joy for a Father is to witness the achievements of his children .. to savour the glory they bring to his name .. to be in the recognition as the Father of Abhishek, rather the other way round .. and Abhishek sums it up for me .. I have given this example often through one of babuji’s poem on the ‘vasiyatnama’ the WILL of inheritance, that is written for the progeny on the passing of the elder ..one of the most prominent lines of the verse are: my sons will not be my inheritors my heir apparent, my successors, just because they are my sons; instead they that are my successors, my uttaradhikari’s, shall be my sons."
