Born to superstars, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan did not follow the path of her parents and ventured into films. She rather created her own identity by launching her own fashion label. Apart from being a designer, Shweta is also an author and her first novel, Paradise Towers was a bestseller.
More than her professional heights, it is Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s bond with her family, especially, with her brother, Abhishek Bachchan which needs special mention. From being his biggest critic to sharing nostalgic memories from their childhood, Shweta and Abhishek dote on each other. She is married to businessman, Nikhil Nanda, and the couple has two adorable kids, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda.

Shweta’s daughter, Navya has been garnering a lot of attention because of her new podcast, What The Hell Navya, which features Shweta Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan along with Navya. In the recent episode, Navya discussed how Shweta and Jaya managed their finances. Shweta revealed that her relationship with money was very bad, and she also blamed her mother, Jaya for the same. Revealing how she borrowed money from her brother, Abhishek, Shweta stated:
“I was borrowing money from Abhishek Bachchan not just in college but in school also… for buying food, and food. When you are in boarding school, it (food) is the number one commodity you can’t live without… I was never educated on all this (managing finances).”
Shweta further stated that after she got married to Nikhil Nanda, she worked as a teacher and earned Rs. 3000 a month, which she used to save. In her words:
“Then when I got married, and I was in Delhi, I had a job as an assistant teacher in a kindergarten, Learning Tree. There I got a salary, I think it was Rs. 3000 a month. I put it in a bank.”

In the same podcast, Shweta also praised her daughter, Navya for being very good with finances and not ignoring them as she did. Revealing how Navya maintains an Excel sheet for her daily expenses, Shweta retorted:
“I don’t handle the finances of my business even now. But I do understand the financial side. I would never want you to be like me. I am very happy both you and Agastya are very aware. Even now, in our house, Navya manages the money, daily expenses. Even I look at it the family’s finances listed on Excel sheet… my ignorance in all things finances has not come down to you.”
