Shweta Tiwari has been one of the most popular faces in the arena of Indian television. She made her debut with Ekta Kapoor’s hit serial, Kasauti Zindagi Kay which made her an overnight sensation and she became a household name ever since. However, on her personal front, she has had a rollercoaster journey with two failed marriages, post which she has single-handedly raised her kids, Palak Tiwari and Reyansh Kohli.
Right at the beginning of her career, the then 19-year-old Shweta Tiwari had tied the knot with another struggling actor, Raja Chaudhary in 1998 after a few years of dating one another. The duo had met through Shweta’s friend who also happened to be Raja’s cousin. Despite severe apprehensions from Shweta’s mom, the couple still took the nuptial plunge and after a few years, welcomed their daughter, Palak Tiwari. But things started to get severe when Shweta became a victim of domestic violence at the hand of her husband, Raja and finally they walked their separate ways in 2007, with the full custody of their daughter being handed over to the actress.

Well, since Shweta was granted complete custody of her daughter, Palak, she raised her beautifully as a single mother, while keeping her away from her biological father, Raja. However, after a wait of 13 years, Raja Chaudhary finally got the moment to meet his daughter Palak for the first time in 2021. As Palak was now an adult, she had the right to choose whether she wanted to meet with her father after such a long time or not. And so when she did express her wish for the same, the duo ended up meeting in a hotel in Mumbai. Speaking about the same, Raja Chaudhary in an interview with The Times of India had revealed:
“I was meeting her after 13 long years! When I last saw her she was a baby and now she is a grown up girl."
Going further in the same interview, Raja Chaudhary had mentioned how he was in contact with Palak all these years through WhatsApp messages. Thereafter, he mentioned how he aligned his schedule by coming down to Mumbai from Meerut and asked Palak to meet him. Furthermore, he also revealed introducing Palak to his side of the family, and highlighted how she was all excited and promised to meet them soon. In his words:
“Palak and I were in touch with each other through Whatsapp messages. Every day I used to message her Good Morning. But we hadn't met at all. I was staying in Meerut with my parents. But had some work in Mumbai, so I called Palak who was rehearsing for her film. She took time out and we met at a hotel in Andheri in Mumbai for around one and a half hours. There were no grudges between us nor did we discuss our past. There were only pyaar bhari talks between us. I told her about my side of the family -- her dada-dadi, chacha-chachi, etc. She was excited to know about them and told me that she will soon come to visit us all. It is a new phase for both of us. I am still that ever caring and loving father for her."

Well, Raja Chaudhary also mentioned how he had missed out on so many special years with his daughter, Palak Tiwari all this while in her growing years. Calling it a second chance in his life, he mentioned how he would make use of it to mend his relationship with his daughter, and also praised his ex-wife, Shweta Tiwari for raising their daughter as the most beautiful woman that she is. In his words:
“Life has given me a second chance to mend things between me and my daughter and I am trying to make the most of it. My love for Palak has not changed at all over these years, even though I wasn't allowed to meet her all these years. But now she is a grown up girl and can take her own decisions. I wish I would have met her all these years, but it is okay. I really missed all the things a father would want to enjoy with his daughter- her growing up, her school, her likes and dislikes, etc. But when I met her today, I realized my daughter Palak has turned out to be a beautiful girl, it's all thanks to my ex-wife Shweta Tiwari. I am really happy now."
