Siddhant Chaturvedi's journey into films is nothing less than an inspiring Bollywood film plot. He comes from a simple family background and followed his father's footsteps to become a chartered accountant until he realised his passion for acting. Since then, the actor worked hard to make his way into Bollywood. However, Siddhant, known for his ability to bring versatile roles to life, didn't had it easy. He went through many rejections and heartbreak until he finally got his due in the web show, Inside Edge and later in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy. In a new interview, Siddhant shared some previously unknown insights about his struggles in Bollywood.
Being an outsider, the journey into Bollywood isn't easy. Every day, countless people come to Mumbai with a dream to be an actor, and likewise, Siddhant had to deal with rejection for five years before he starred in the film, Gully Boy in the supporting role of 'MC Sher' and won our hearts with his attitude and style. Recently, Siddhant Chaturvedi sat down for an interview with Mashable India. During the conversation, he revealed that when he was 21 years old and dreamed of making it big in Cinema, he signed his first film with a big banner production company.
Siddhant revealed that he participated in its six-month workshop after signing the film. Moreover, he was so dedicated to doing it right that Siddhant even dressed and styled his hair like the character in his real life. However, he was later informed that the film was scrapped, which gave him a big jolt. Further, his hair and styling reminded him of his heartbreak, and one day, and he shaved his hair. Siddhant was quoted as saying:
"I was 21-22 at that time, I had auditioned for a film and got selected for that role. The workshop went on for six months, so I started doing my hair and wearing clothes according to my character. But the film later got scrapped. Whenever I would look in the mirror, I would just see that character. So I shaved my hair! It was a big jolt for me."
In the same interview, Siddhant explained that he was full of dreams after getting the big-budget film and thought his career was all set until the film got shelved. He felt low, and later, he almost came aboard for several films, but nothing worked for him. The actor revealed that his friends were preparing for CA exams, and his mother asked him to do the same. However, his father asked him to follow his passion, which made him work hard persistently, and the star has shined brightly since then in films like Gully Boy, Bunty Babli 2, Gehraiyaan, Kho Gaye Hum Kaha and more. In his words:
"I was really low, and for the next three months after that, till my hair didn't grow, I was in a Zen mode after that. All my friends were doing CA, and I had left even that. My mother told me I should at least sit for the CA final, as I was doing nothing anyway. But my father motivated me."
On the work front, Siddhant was last seen in the film, Yudhra, co-starring Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal, Gajraj Rao and more. He will next be seen in Dhadak 2, co-starring Triptii Dimri.
