Siddhant Chaturvedi rose to popularity with his role in Zoya Akhtar's film, Gully Boy, which starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The 31-year-old then impressed the audience with his impeccable stint in Gehraiyaan, featuring Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. Recently, Siddhant talked about his initial reluctance to sign the Shakun Batra film, which revolved around the theme of infidelity
In an interview on the talk show, In The Ring with Filmfare, Siddhant recalled panicking while shooting an intimate scene with Bollywood diva, Deepika Padukone in Gehraiyaan. The situation went so out of control that the popular filmmaker, Karan Johar and Siddhant's father had to intervene. Sharing that his father gave him a pep talk before the scene, Siddhant said:
"I remember my dad spoke to me. He was like, ‘Listen, in India, 99% of the people will do anything to have this opportunity. They won’t even think about it for a second. What are you even thinking? Please be a man, be professional, this is your job.’"

However, Siddhant's nervousness got the better of him, but his father handled the situation. The actor further mentioned how his father calmed him down with his advice and reminded him of the great opportunity he'd been offered. He said his dad asked him to do the scene if he wanted to be a good actor. Siddhant was quoted as saying:
"I was like, ‘I don’t know what to do’. He said, ‘It doesn’t matter. You are the one who will define things. Go do it if you want to be a good actor. You will never be anything special unless you don’t redefine things. Siddhant, it’s Dharma, it’s Deepika Padukone, it’s Shakun Batra, and you have got to do this.'"
Siddhant explained that his introverted and shy nature became a roadblock in portraying the intimate scene with Deepika. He revealed that he never made a first move in any of his relationships because of his nature. The actor also recalled that Karan Johar finally had to intervene, and he knocked some sense into him. Siddhant said:
"Karan called me, and he was like, ‘What’s the problem?’ And I told him everything. He was like, ‘Dude, you are a professional, and just behave like one. This is your job.’"
