Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's Sky Force is finally reeling in theatres across the country on January 24, 2025. The film marks Veer's debut and stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in pivotal roles. However, a day before the much-awaited film's release, Siddharth Anand penned a cryptic post that led netizens to question the filmmaker's intent behind the post. This post comes at a time when fans have been drawing comparisons between Fighter, which was directed by Siddharth, and Akshay Kumar's Sky Force.
For the unversed, Siddharth Anand took to his X handle on the night of January 23, 2025, and made a cryptic post ahead of the release of Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's Sky Force. The filmmaker commented about insecurities and sabotaging others to get ahead. While he didn't directly target the film, the post has over 750k views and has raised questions about the context. The post read:
"Hahahaha!! Insecurity hits new lows! I feel so important today! Have faith in your own self! Come on, yo!! An old saying – Blowing off another candle won’t make yours burn brighter! But alas…"
As mentioned, the filmmaker, Siddharth Anand, didn't mention the context of his post. However, the timing of the same has led many X users to question if it is a dig at the comparisons between Fighter and Akshay Kumar's Sky Force. For the unversed, both films depict two different storylines related to the Indian Air Force.
One of the reviews even suggested that Sky Force was 'not another Fighter'. However, some netizens believe that the comment might have rubbed Siddharth the wrong way. A comment read, "Who will win the final battle? Fighter or Sky Force? Let's wait for the lifetime BO." Another user, in a long post, wrote:
"Your words remind me how important it is to focus on self-growth rather than pulling others down. It’s a journey, and I hope you find the strength to focus on your own light instead of dimming someone else's!! Wishing you peace!!"
An X user commented, "After watching the trailer, it just felt like a copy of Ajay Devgan's Bhuj and Hrithik's Fighter!" A user's comment read, "Crying instead of congratulating when someone made a better film than you?" The comments did not stop there. Many called Siddharth's post an 'unwarranted dig' and stated:

"There's bound to be a comparison when two movies share the same background. If one movie gets better reviews, have a big heart and appreciate it. Why be insecure?"
Siddharth Anand's Fighter starred Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, and Anil Kapoor in lead roles. The film revolved around a fictionalised story of a rescue mission. The movie had a lukewarm response from the audience but still managed to be a box-office success, collecting Rs. 358 crore at the box office worldwide.
On the other hand, Sky Force is said to be "an untold story of honour, courage, and patriotism that deserves to be shared" and is based on a pivotal moment in Indian history. The film features Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya as IAF officers. It is an adaptation made around the country’s retaliatory attack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965, remembered as India’s first and deadliest airstrike.
