Model-turned-actor Sidharth Malhotra made his entry into Bollywood with his debut film, Student Of The Year. From then onwards, the actor has been able to captivate the hearts of tons of girls with his charming looks and a chiselled physique. He has done a variety of roles, from the romantic boy in Student Of The Year and Hasee Toh Phasee, to the brooding lover of Ek Villain, and the boxing champion in Brothers.

He has always groomed his body according to the role, and it has remained faithful to him. Let us tell you his fitness secrets from which you too can take inspiration to always look great.
Sidharth is a self-admitted fitness freak and gym addict.
He confesses:
“Like my dog Oscar, I am hyper and feel restless when I do not sweat it out. I need to do something to release all my pent up energy.”

His trainer Satish Narkar is his go-to person for fitness and has high regards for him. He keeps in mind his body requirements of being muscular, as well as light on his feet to accommodate the dance sequences of his movies. He also pays attention to his medical history of knee injuries and formulates exercise routines according to it.

One of the secrets behind the athletic body of the star is his affection for football. Instead of doing hardcore and tough workouts in the gym, he is far more in favour of playing his favourite game. Sidharth also does not believe in over-exhausting his body, and gladly cancels his gym session if a dance practice is on his schedule.
After beginning his workouts with 10 minutes of warm-up exercises, Sidharth practices cardio workouts and weight training. The actor also adores running and swimming and practices them twice in a week.

While sticking to a balanced diet, the actor prefers organic and homemade foods. He confesses to having a sweet tooth, and tries to restrict the consumption of sweet foods, and prefers substituting them with naturally sweet, healthy foods. Dark chocolates possessing antioxidant properties are one of such choices made by him.

Fruits are a major part of his diet, and he prefers having whole fruits to fruit juices. He points out that one glass of fruit juice, even a natural one, will have the contents of six oranges (which still is a lot of sugar) and no fibre. He is a hardcore non-vegetarian Punjabi boy, and loves to have his chicken, fish, meat and other protein-rich food.

He believes in proper hydration, and also makes it a point to have his protein shake if he is missing meals. He is a teetotaller and steers away from smoking too.
The actor also claims that having taken up working out seriously, he has a new-found respect for the likes of Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, who have been sporting such ripped bodies without the help of personal trainers and nutritionists all those years ago.

He admits it can be daunting to maintain six-packs the whole year round, and it requires a change of lifestyle with regular workouts and strict dieting. But with correct guidance, it is not impossible.
