On June 2, 2022, a doctor, who had conducted KK’s autopsy had splilled the beans in an interview with PTI. He mentioned that KK had several prolonged heart blockages, which had remained untreated. The doctor further said that KK might mistook his pain for digestive issues in the past, resulting in ignorance of the heart problem. The medical practitioner further added that due to dancing for three long hours, KK had experienced a stoppage of blood flow leading to cardiac arrest. In his words:
“The vocalist had 80 per cent blockage in the left main coronary artery and small blockages in various other arteries and sub-arteries. None of the blockades were 100 per cent. During Tuesday’s performance, the singer was walking around and at times dancing with the crowd which created excessive excitement that caused a stoppage of blood flow leading to cardiac arrest.”
Further in the conversation, the doctor, who demanded anonymity, revealed to PTI that the iconic singer, Krishnakumar Kunnath could have been saved if he would have provided CPR when he had first fallen unconscious. The doctor can be quoted as saying:
“As a result, KK fell unconscious and had a cardiac arrest. If CPR had been given immediately, the artiste could have been saved.”
