On December 31, 2025, Smriti Mandhana took to her Instagram handle and shared a year recap video. In the video, Smriti was seen enjoying her World Cup-winning moment, along with fun memories with her family. In the clip, Smriti also included her fitness routine. However, what caught our attention was a quote that she attached at the end-of-the-year recap video. The words in the quote are from Lord Krishna and are part of the holy book, the Bhagavad Gita. The note can be read as:

"DAY 12 Of daily Bhagavad Gita 'Before something great happens to you, everything falls apart. So just wait.' - Lord Krishna."

Smriti Mandhana addressed the buzz surrounding her cancelled wedding to Palaash Muchhal

On December 7, 2025, Smriti Mandhana took to her Instagram Story and shared a note to confirm that her wedding to Palaash Muchhal had been called off. She shared that, being a private person, she wanted to keep things to herself. In the note, Smriti mentioned that she wanted to close the matter and also requested privacy on behalf of both families. Her note can be read as:

"Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace."

Further in the note, Smriti mentioned that her highest purpose in life was always to represent her country, India. She shared that she hoped to continue playing cricket and win trophies for India as long as possible. She highlighted that her focus was always on the sport. She wrote:

"I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all, and for me, that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible, and that is where my focus will forever be. Thank you for all your support. It's time to move forward."

However, their scheduled wedding that was about to take place on November 23, 2025, at Smriti’s hometown, Sangli, got postponed after the cricketer’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, got hospitalised. Soon after the family emergency made headlines, Palaash Muchhal's alleged cheating stole the spotlight.
