Amid the online frenzy, old photographs of Palaash Muchhal with his former girlfriend have resurfaced and gone viral. One picture shows an elaborate proposal setup, with Palaash kneeling before his then-partner. Pictures posted on social media platforms like X and Reddit have sparked speculation that the singer may have been engaged before he began dating Smriti Mandhana. However, these claims remain unverified, and BollywoodShaadis cannot confirm the authenticity of the pictures. 

Netizens have been digging into Palash Muchhal's past ever since rumours about the music composer cheating on Smriti Mandhana gained pace. While the cricketer has not addressed the speculation, netizens have identified the ex-girlfriend as Birva Shah, a plastic surgeon. They claim the proposal photo is from 2017. Palaash reportedly began dating Smriti in 2019 after being introduced through mutual friends. The couple went public about their relationship only in 2024. 

Netizens react to the viral pictures

The pictures soon went viral on social media, and netizens started flooding the comments section. A user penned, "Good lord, what even is happening at this point? Whoever even cheats right before your marriage, especially with such a high-profile event in front of you?" Another wrote, "Playboy is still a superior word for him, at least Playboys are clear with their f**kall attitude, and they behave entitled, but this creep acts like a green flag, proposes girls for fun, and then goes on and cheats on them, he’s a creep, man!!" While some called Palaash out, others called this a 'blessing' for Smriti. A user penned:

"Safe to say it's the best year for smriti(blessing in disguise)...1st she won the world cup and now god has just unmasked this mf just right before the marriage....things could have gone way way more wrong but just on the very time his real face is in front of everybody...imagine finding out such a thing after marriage."

Smriti Mandhana deletes engagement video amid speculation

Following the postponement, fans noticed Smriti Mandhana had quietly removed her engagement announcement video from Instagram. The viral dance reel featured teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, and Arundhati Reddy had also been removed. It is now being alleged that Smriti's teammates have also removed the reel from their respective Instagram profiles. The move has further fuelled speculation, although neither Smriti nor Palaash has responded to the rumours.
