Soha Ali Khan, the younger daughter of veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore and former India cricket captain, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, began her acting career in 2004 and made her debut with the film, Dil Maange More. She has also started a podcast, All About Her, on her YouTube channel, where various celebrities and famous personalities appear to discuss various things. To make the podcast interesting and engaging, Soha often shares interesting anecdotes related to her personal life. Now, in a recent episode, she shared a fun-filled moment involving her parents.
In a recent episode, Soha Ali Khan welcomed Bollywood actress, Sonakshi Sinha and therapist and relationship coach, Kasturi Mahanta to her podcast. During a conversation with the duo, Soha shared an interesting anecdote involving her parents, Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Soha mentioned that once her mom told her that when she was newly married, she used to do makeup before her dad woke up. She also revealed the reason behind doing so, and this thing went on for a brief period of time. Soha was quoted as saying:
"My mother once told me that when she got married, she used to wake up before my father woke up to put a little bit of rouge on, and then she would go back to sleep because she was Sharmila Tagore and he should wake up to see Sharmila Tagore. It went on for a brief period of time."

Cricket and Bollywood’s close connection has existed for ages, and Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan’s love story has proved it yet again. The duo met each other through a common friend. It was in 1965 that the couple came to Delhi. During that time, Mansoor, who was the captain of the Indian cricket team, scored a double century. In a 2023 chat show of Twinkle Khanna for the Tweak India channel, The Icons, Sharmila recalled her first meeting with Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She was quoted as saying:
"I met him at one of the cricket parties, and he had just come back from England. So, that was the first time we met, and then I was going to Nainital for work, and I was in Delhi when he scored his double century. We had exchanged telephone numbers in Kolkata. So, I called his house, because there were no mobile phones then, and left a message saying well done, congratulations and forgot all about it."

However, winning Sharmila was not an easy task. Mansoor gifted her a refrigerator, and it was later the roses and letters that he had sent her for a period of 4 years, which made the bong beauty finally say yes to him. But their journey was not smooth as both belonged to two different religious backgrounds. On December 27, 1969, the couple got married, and their wedding ceremony was nothing less than a royal affair.

To marry the Nawab of Pataudi, Sharmila converted to Islam and became Ayesha Sultana. In the same chat show, Sharmila recalled how her family had to face threats as she married a Muslim man. She highlighted that their marriage was about to take place at Fort William, but it was cancelled at the last moment. She was quoted as saying:

But Fort Williams refused at the last minute because some of the baraats that were coming had some Army connection. In the end, they found an Ambassador friend’s big house."
