However, the actress soon disappeared from the TV screen after her stint in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, in 2016. While since then, she has opened up about her abusive marriage and even moved on to build a happy and fulfilled life for herself, fans often miss seeing her on their television screens.

Somya, however, seems to have left that phase of her life behind and has built a new life for herself. Her happy home includes her now-husband, Shubham Chuhadia, her son, Ayden and her and Shubham's little bundle of joy. Yes! The couple is expecting their first child together. She often gives her fans glimpses and peaks into her new life on her social media. Somya Seth's first troubled marriage with Arun Kapoor

Somya Seth went through the most troubled time in her life after she tied the knot with her first husband, a US-based businessman beau, Arun Kapoor. The actress not only said goodbye to her acting career when she married Arun in January 2017 but also shifted base to the United States. Soon after, the couple welcomed their baby boy, Ayden, in August 2017. However, their relationship took a fall thereafter as Somya revealed that she was being abused by her husband.

The situation got so bad that she had to stay at a 'Safehouse' for quite some time. For the unversed, the US houses a special residential capacity where women suffering from domestic abuse can take shelter while they heal from the trauma. As a result of the turmoil, Somya and Arun ended their marriage and got divorced in 2019, on the condition that both parents would share a joint custody of their son, Ayden.

Somya Seth struggled with suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy

Somya Seth has once opened up about the difficulties she faced during her first pregnancy. The time that is supposed to be one of the most precious moments in a woman's life was marked by suicidal thoughts for Somya. In an Instagram post, Somya later revealed that she had been dealing with pre-natal depression during her pregnancy.

She urged millions of her fans who might be facing a similar situation to speak with an expert before things get out of control. Recalling her pregnancy, Somya Seth revealed how, during her pregnancy, she frequently looked for different ways to hurt or kill herself, all the while putting a bright smile for the world to see. Concluding the post, Somya mentioned how she could not fulfil her thoughts of committing suicide as, at the end of the day, she was risking not one but two lives. 

Somya Seth talked about violence in her marriage with Arun Kapoor

Somya has previously opened up about the abuse she faced in her marriage. In an interview with the Times Of India, the actress revealed how she would always be covered in bruises and couldn't even get herself to look in the mirror for days. She added that while she often thought of harming herself, she quickly would brush them away because she couldn't hurt her child. She was quoted as saying:

"I couldn't dare to look in the mirror for a few days, and when I finally did, I just wanted to end my life. However, I was pregnant. And that's when I felt that if I died, my child would not know how much I love him/her. He would have to live without a mother for the rest of his life. I could kill myself but could never think of harming my own child. So yes, that's how my son Ayden saved my life."

Somya Seth on finding love again with Shubham Chuhadia

Despite being separated from Arun Kapoor, Somya did not find the journey moving forward easy. However, this changed when she met her now-husband, Shubham Chuhadia. In an interview with the Bombay Times, Somya recalled that she met Shubham for the first time while househunting with her son, Ayden. She revealed that she was looking for a bigger space, and Shubham, who was an architect, became her housemate. She added that over time their friendship grew and soon blossomed into love. She called Shubham her 'kintsugi', which is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. Somya was quoted as saying:

"From housemates, we became friends, and we grew close during the tough pandemic times. We have decided to be together ever since. His being part of my life has been like kintsugi. He is 'The One' is not a one-day feeling; instead, it’s my everyday feeling."

Somya Seth's heartfelt Father's Day wish for her then-boyfriend, Shubham Chuhadia

Shubham soon became a significant part of Somya and her son, Ayden's life. The former actress shared a close bond with the two through social media. However, it was on June 23, 2023, when she shared a series of photographs of the two and thanked Shubham with a heartfelt note to mark Father's Day. The caption read:

"Every day we are so grateful for you!! Day after day - our respect and love for you only grows!! Thank you for all that you do everyday for this family. Thank you for always putting Ayden and his needs first. Thank you for always being there for us. Thank you for being the perfect role model in our lives. You are loved and celebrated every day!!"

Soumya about becoming a real estate agent in Virginia at 33 years of age

Somya Seth is currently working as a real estate agent in the US. She shared the details of the same with her online family in April 2021. Afterwards, Somya talked about how she shaped her career as a real estate agent. The 33-year-old revealed that she had seen her father and grandfather run a business and wanted to become a businesswoman herself. She added that real estate gave her that opportunity, and her curiosity led her to explore how homes are constructed and how location is the most important key in the valuation of a home.

Somya Seth's marriage with Shubham Chuhadia

Somya Seth gave love another go and married Shubham Chuhadia in an intimate wedding on June 22, 2023. The couple soon built a happy for themselves and Somya's son, Ayden, and now the duo is all set to welcome their bundle of joy. The couple took to their Instagram handle on April 6, 2025, and announced that they are going to be parents soon. 

Somya Seth might have had a rough start, but she has most definitely turned her life around.
