'Son Of Sardaar 2' Trailer Review: Fans React To Mukul Dev's Final Appearance, Miss Sonakshi Sinha

Ajay Devgn left the audience in splits when Son of Sardaar was released in 2012. The film starred Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla in lead roles. The film was a remake of the 2010 Telugu film, Maryada Ramanna. Now, over a decade later, the film is all set to return to the screens with its sequel, Son of Sardaar 2 and the trailer for the same was released today, July 11, 2025.

Ajay Devgn is making his comeback to the comedy genre as 'Jassi' in the second instalment of Son of Sardaar. The trailer of the film was dropped on July 11, 2025, and introduced the new leading lady of the comedic adventure, Mrunal Thakur. The almost three-minute trailer teased that the film will take the audience on a ride of comedic misadventures. The makers released the trailer with much fanfare during an event in Mumbai and introduced some major changes.

While the first film was set in Punjab, the second film will be set in Scotland. The trailer opened with a question, "Will he survive Scotland?", proving that the film will have some major twists for 'Jassi'. The trailer opened up on a funny note with 'Jassi' looking at an older woman he referred to as 'Bebe' performing a pole dance. However, she falls off the pole and collapses. The trailer further introduces the ravishing Mrunal Thakur, who pretends to be 'Jassi's' wife to get another character to get married.

However, as the duo join forces, the film takes a massive turn as 'Jassi' pretends to be a retired armyman. But as the real parents of the girl return, will the strong-headed 'Sardaar' be able to get her married without Ravi Kishan's character finding out the truth? Or will the comedy of errors take us on a ride of laughs, tears and action? Well, the film also marks Mukul Dev's final appearance on the screen, so maybe tissue papers won't be a bad option after all. There are also several one-liners in the trailer, with some popular ones from the first instalment, such as "Just Joking" and "Kadi Hass Bhi Liya Karo", which invoke a sense of nostalgia.

However, not everyone felt like the film was doing justice to the original film. A user penned, "Honestly, the Scotland plot is making it very artificial. The core plot itself is not interesting compared to Part 1... 1-2 comedy scenes are working & rest are cringeworthy." Another wrote, "Forced humour, lifeless trailer. Feels like a below-average film that no one will remember. Mrunal and Ajay look like a sore thumb to the eyes… or is it just me?"
