Popular Bollywood actress, Sonakshi Sinha is reportedly getting married to her longtime boyfriend-cum-actor, Zaheer Iqbal, on June 23, 2024. According to various media reports, the couple, who has allegedly been dating since 2020, will tie the knot in the presence of their family and friends at a popular SoBo venue. Ahead of their wedding, Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha was interviewed, and the veteran actor said that he, too, has been waiting for his daughter to inform him about her wedding. This statement left many confused and people speculated a discord between the father-daughter duo.
However, Sonakshi’s recent post with Shatrughan Sinha on Father’s Day has quashed such baseless rumours. The 37-year-old actress took to her Instagram stories on June 16, 2024, and shared an adorable picture with her father. In the glimpse, Sonakshi lovingly held her father’s hand and was seen smiling ear to ear. Sharing the picture, the actress wrote, “Happy fathers day to the pillar of my strength,” atop the picture, and also added a ‘#1 Dad’ sticker on it.

After Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding reports surfaced in the media, the actress’ father was interviewed by Times Now. During the conversation, Shatrughan Sinha said that he and his wife have been waiting for their daughter to break the news of her marriage to them. He further added that he knows just as much as the media knew about her wedding. Talking more on this, Shatrughan Sinha said:
“Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to be dancing right in front of the baaraat. I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this, and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed.”
Meanwhile, celebrity stylist and Zaheer’s sister, Sanam Ratansi, took to her Instagram stories on June 16, 2024, and posted a picture of the rumoured soon-to-be-married couple, Sonakshi and Zaheer. The actress, dressed in a co-ord set, was seen happily posing with her to-be-husband's family. In the picture, Sonakshi was seen standing beside her would-be-father-in-law, Iqbal Ratansi. Sanam posted the picture with a red heart emoji atop it.

Just a few days ago, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding invite went viral on social media with ‘The rumours were true’ written over it. The invite, which features an adorable picture of the soon-to-be-married couple, revealed that the party would take place in Bastian. The couple has also asked the guests to wear anything, but red. The invite was also accompanied by a sweet message from Sonakshi and Zaheer. They said:
“To all our hip, tech-savvy and jasoos friends and family who has managed to land on this page, hi. For the last seven years that we have been together, all the joy, love, laughter and many, many adventures has led us to this very moment. The moment where go from being each other’s rumoured girlfriend and boyfriend to being each other’s definite and official husband and wife. Finally! This celebration will not be complete without you so drop whatever you’re doing on the 23rd of June and come party with us. See you there.”
