Sonakshi Sinha recently tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal after secretly dating for seven years. The couple decided to go for a civil ceremony on June 23, 2024, due to their different religious backgrounds. Just after reports of Sonakshi’s wedding surfaced in the media, there were rumours that the actress had some discord with her family. However, quashing such baseless reports, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha happily attended their daughter’s marriage ceremony.
But Sonakshi’s brothers, Luv and Kussh, were seemingly absent from the wedding bash and reception. Luv also tweeted, confirming his absence. Moreover, when there were speculations about Sonakshi’s relationship, her brother mentioned in an interview how he had talked to her about his opinion, but she never listened to him.

While interacting with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube talk show in 2023, Luv shared how he handles rumours related to his sister’s personal life. He talked about his brotherly obligations and mentioned that he had been concerned because everyone tried to be nice on the surface, but he thought reality could vary. In his words:
“As a brother, I would always be concerned about other individuals. See, everyone on the surface tries to show that they’re good. Everyone on the surface tries to project themselves a certain way. But the reality can be different. I as a brother, would do my duty to keep a check on anyone and everyone.”
Furthermore, when the host questioned Luv if he had been possessive of his sister, he denied being one. However, he remarked that he doesn’t have hidden agendas like outsiders might have and added that he just thinks as an older brother. Sharing that his sister, Sonakshi, never listened to him, Luv said:
“Possessive kya hai? Aisa toh nahi hai ki main usko pakad ke boloonga ki ghar pe baitho. Possessive nahi hoon, main apni baat ko saamne rakhta hoon. That’s a different thing that she doesn’t listen because she is how she is. I come from an angle where I am not benefitting from anything. Outsiders may benefit. Outsiders will always benefit or try to use or have an agenda.”

On July 2, 2024, Sonakshi’s brother, Luv, shared why he opted out of the actress’ wedding bash. Resharing an article by a media outlet, Luv mentioned that he doesn’t like to associate with a certain segment of people. Further, in his note, he stated that he was glad that a media member did their proper research before putting out creative stories. In his words:
“The reasons are very clear as to why I didn’t attend, and would not associate with some people no matter what. I’m glad a member of the media did their research instead of relying on creative stories being put out by a PR team.”
