Once, in an old interview with a news portal, Zaheer opened up about his father's concrete bond with Salman Khan. The doting son shared that Salman once borrowed some money from his father in 2011 to take out his then-girlfriend. The Bollywood superstar never returned the money to Iqbal Ratansi and told him that he would repay the amount by making his son a 200-crore Bollywood star. He said:

Zaheer Iqbal made his acting debut in Bollywood with the film, Notebook, which was produced by Salman Khan's production house, Salman Khan Films. After making his debut with Notebook, Zaheer Iqbal worked opposite his ladylove, Sonakshi Sinha in the film, Double XL. It was also the film that reportedly played Cupid for Sonakshi and Zaheer, as it was on the sets of Double XL when their friendship allegedly turned into love.
