Salman's Unexpected Concern Amid Sonali Bendre's Cancer Treatment Won Her Heart, 'Made Two Trips..'

Salman Khan is admired not just for delivering major box office hits but also for his larger-than-life personality. He has helped several celebrities like Dia Mirza, Remo D'Souza, Faraz Khan and more during their time of need and never shied away from standing with anyone during their tough times. At the same time, the superstar always remains quiet about the help he offers to those in need, which makes him a class apart. Recently, one more celebrity who shared one such heartwarming story is Salman Khan's Hum Saath Saath Hain co-star, Sonali Bendre. 

Sonali Bendre reveals how Salman made two trips to New York during treatment

Sonali Bendre recently sat down for a candid conversation with ANI where she shared how her bond with Salman Khan has evolved. The actress recalled that when she worked with Salman in Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1999, he used to make faces while she gave her closeup shots. At the same time, they used to have small fights, which never let them form a strong bond. However, later, when she was diagnosed with high-grade metastatic cancer, she got to see another side of the actor, which touched her heart. In her words:

"Salman is like a child, and everything about him is to the extreme, even his care and concern. The same person who was making faces behind the camera is the one who made two trips to New York to see if I was okay during my illness."

The actress also shared that Salman Khan used to call up her husband, Goldie, to get updates about her health, her doctors and the course of treatment. In addition, he used to suggest more doctors and the best options for her treatment which surprised Sonali. She was taken away by witnessing how invested he was in her treatment and wanted things right for her. Once he was convinced that they had chosen the best doctors and treatment for her, he was at peace. Sharing how she has come to admire the actor, she said:

"In doing so, he showed how sensitive and caring he truly is. I've had my issues with him, but I've grown to appreciate that side of him."

Sonali Bendre recalled how she used to fight with Salman during Hum Saath Saath Hain shoot 

Sonali Bendre in an interview with Bollywood Bubble had recalled her experience of working with Salman Khan on Hum Saath Saath Hain. She mentioned that they used to fight every time, and he used to make faces at her, which left her frustrated. However, she gradually understood that beneath his tough exterior, he is a soft person. The actress also highlighted how Salman makes it difficult for anyone to like him.

Sonali Bendre started her career with modelling and made her debut in 1994 with Naaraaz. She appeared in a few films but got her breakthrough after two years with Diljale opposite Ajay Devgn. The actress went on to work in popular films like Duplicate, Major Saab, Zakhm, Sarfarosh, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, among others. Sonali was last seen in Amazon Prime's Be Happy, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan.
