The comic book biography says that Tombstone did not have a normal childhood, as his albino appearance was always mocked in high school. However, Tombstone threatened Robbie on various occasions, following which the latter wrote an article for the school paper, addressing Tombstone’s bullying and extortion. The article was eventually not published when Tombstone threatened him again. Although Tombstone and Robbie went their separate ways after high school, they met each other again after many years. The duo’s meeting after many years happened when Robbie went to see an informant, who was killed by Tombstone. Although Robbie maintained silence after being threatened, he eventually testified, leading to Tombstone’s incarceration. Tombstone injured Robbie’s spine, and the duo was sent to prison, with Robbie being accused of withholding evidence. They later escaped, and while Tombstone was planning an ambush for Ronnie, Spider-Man found him. Tombstone was also shot by Ronnie, following which the former was exposed to a chemical called Diox-3 in a room, giving him superhuman abilities.
