Sreeleela is a famous face in the Kannada and Telugu cinema industry. The 23-year-old star was born in a Telugu family in Detroit, Michigan, US, in 2001 and began her acting journey at a very young age, back in 2017. The Telugu-Kannada actress' personal life has always been open in the media glare. There was a time in 2022 when Sreeleela's alleged father, Surapaneni Subhakara Rao, filed an FIR against Sreeleela's mom, Dr Swarnalatha. She has been one of the top gynaecologists and fertility experts in the country. A report by the New Indian Express claimed that Dr Swarnalatha helped many Kannada stars deliver their little bundle of joy. Reportedly, Yash and Radhika Pandit's bundle of joy was delivered under the guidance of Sreeleela's mom.
Sreeleela's alleged father, Surapaneni Subhakar Rao, had filed a FIR against his estranged wife, Sreeleela's mom, Swarnalatha, at the Audugodi Police Station in 2022. He alleged that she had entered his Koramangala apartment illegally on October 3, 2022, and had also broken the lock. Reports claim that Sreeleela's parents were married for 20 years and had reportedly separated. Another case is reportedly pending against Sreeleela's mom at the Anekal Police Station. It is related to a group of people who had forcibly entered Alliance University and threatened the registrar. She was termed the second accused and has been reportedly out on bail. There has been no official confirmation by the actress on the same.
On October 17, 2021, Surapaneni Subhakara Rao, an industrialist, held a media event to clarify that Sreeleela was not his daughter. The Telugu businessman, who reportedly has many businesses in Bangalore, revealed that Sreeleela was not his daughter. He claimed that his ex-wife, Swarnalatha, had given birth to the actress after they had separated. He had requested media publications and YouTube channels not to use his name as 'PellisandaD' actress's father'.
Sreeleela's alleged father claimed that he had faced a lot of loss when he had separated from Swarnalatha 20 years back. He did not want to keep any ties with the actress, and neither did he want his name to be misused. He claimed that the family court had already given the verdict and had also alleged that his estranged wife, kept re-applying at different High Courts as she wanted more alimony. He also alleged that the divorce case for this reason has been pending and also said that Sreeleela using his name in the media was not correct. He alleged that the actress and her mom wanted more stake in his assets with malign intentions.
