Sridevi Had 'Constant Blackouts' Due To STRICT Diet, It Became The REASON Of Her Death In A Bath Tub

When Sridevi passed away within a week of attending her family's wedding in Dubai left everyone in deep sorrow. Her millions of fans across the world wanted answers to what happened with her. Some wondered if she took her own life, others claimed it was a foul play by her husband, and many targeted Boney Kapoor as they were unable to believe how Sridevi could accidentally drown herself in the hotel's bathtub.

When Boney Kapoor revealed the cause of Sridevi's death in a bathtub, after years of her sudden demise

For the Kapoor family, it was extremely difficult to come to terms with Sridevi's sudden death in Dubai, where they had gone to attend their family wedding. Boney Kapoor didn't even get the chance to cry and express shock as he was taken into custody and was constantly questioned about what could be the reason for his wife's death, which he also had no idea about.

Five years after Sridevi's death, Boney Kapoor, in an interview with The New Indian, mustered the courage and talked about it. He revealed that Sridevi had constant issues with low BP as she would be on a strict diet and would starve herself. Boney added that Sridevi wanted to look good on screen and stay in shape, so she would often opt for crash dieting. 

The filmmaker further revealed that since the time Sridevi married him, she would often have blackouts on many occasions. The doctors told her that she had low BP, but Sridevi never listened to them and always ate salt-free food. Boney Kapoor claimed that Sridevi's diet became the cause of her death. He said:

"She often used to starve; she wanted to look good. She wanted to make sure she’s in good shape, so that on-screen, she looks good. From the time she was married to me, she had blackouts on a couple of occasions, and the doctor kept on saying she had a low BP issue. Unfortunately, she didn’t take this seriously, and she also thought maybe it can’t be this serious until the incident happened."

Sridevi once broke her teeth after she had fainted in the bathroom due to her diet

Not only this, Boney Kapoor shared another incident of Sridevi's crash dieting, which turned serious. Boney revealed that when he met Nagarjuna after Sridevi's death, he informed him that once during Sridevi's film, she broke her teeth as she fainted in the bathroom. Sharing the incident, Boney Kapoor said:

"It was unfortunate. Later when she passed away. Nagarjuna had come home to offer his condolences, and he told me that during one of her movies, she was again on a crash diet, and that’s how she fell in the bathroom and broke her teeth."

Boney Kapoor revealed he was taken into custody for 24-48 hours after Sridevi's death

Boney Kapoor also revealed in the same interview that he underwent lie detector tests after Sridevi's death. He was interrogated for 24 to 48 hours as there was a lot of pressure by the Indian media. After which, the Dubai police gave him a clean chit and revealed that Sridevi's death was accidental.
