Stefanie Pieper was found dead five days after she went missing. On November 28, 2025, her body was found in a suitcase in a remote forest near Majsperk, Slovenia. Her ex-boyfriend, a 31-year-old nightclub security guard named Peter M., was arrested in Slovenia on November 24, 2025, after his car was found burning near the border. Previous reports suggested that Peter M. was unable to explain himself or provide a valid reason when the police asked him about his burning red Volkswagen Golf. The latest development in the case includes Peter M. allegedly confessing to killing Stefanie, as reported by TMZ.

Peter M. reportedly stated that he strangled Stefanie Pieper during an argument, put her body in a suitcase, and drove across the border to hide it. Her ex-boyfriend's statement sent shockwaves across the young influencer's fans. Peter and Stefanie had been in an on-and-off relationship for a long time, and their love-hate relationship might have led to her chilling murder. Besides Peter M., two of his family members (his brother and his stepfather) were also arrested for suspected involvement in covering up the crime. She reportedly sent a friend a WhatsApp message about a "creep in the stairwell", describing him as a "dark figure", hinting at someone stalking her. Shortly after sending out the text, the Austrian beauty influencer's phone was reportedly turned off. The next day, she was supposed to appear for a photoshoot, and her failure to arrive on time worried her photographer. After being unable to reach her by phone, the photographer visited her apartment and, feeling unsettled, alerted the police.

Police found Stefanie's phone in a nearby bush, discovered her dog alone in her apartment, and received reports from neighbours about "loud noises" coming from her flat on the day she went missing. Some also claimed to have seen her ex-boyfriend, Peter M., in the apartment on the day of Stefanie's disappearance. The following evening, Stefanie's ex-boyfriend was arrested in Slovenia near the Austrian border after his car was found abandoned and burned in a casino parking lot. After being kept in custody for a few days as the main suspect in Stefanie's case, he eventually confessed to strangling and killing her.
