Stella Banderas' Father Praised Alex Gruszynski, Antonio Banderas Called Son-In-Law, 'Awesome'

Spanish actor, Antonio Banderas, is beaming with joy as his daughter, Stella Banderas, found her happily ever after. On October 18, 2025 ET, Stella tied the knot with her childhood friend and long-term beau, Alex Gruszynski, in an enchanting ceremony. The photos from the nuptials haven't been released yet. However, we can take a guess at how dreamy it will be, considering the couple's movie-like love story. The 65-year-old, Antonio Banderas, was aware of his daughter's romance with Alex Gruszynski for a long time. He said some lovely words for the lad.

Stella Banderas and Alex Gruszynski got married after a year of engagement

Stella Banderas married Alex Gruszynski at the Abadía Retuerta estate, a 12th-century monastery and vineyard in Valladolid, as reported by PEOPLE. The intimate ceremony was attended by their closest friends, family, and extended family. For the unversed, Stella's mother, Melanie Griffith, was previously married to American actor and singer, Don Johnson, which makes Dakota Johnson Stella's half-sister. Dakota was also present at the happy occasion, as reported by HOLA! Stella and Alex's wedding took place a year and two months after they got engaged.

Back then, Stella's father, Antonia, heaped praises on his son-in-law, Alex Gruszynski. Stella and Alex got engaged in August 2024 at the place where they first met each other, their old preschool. Stella announced their engagement on Instagram with a carousel of photos showing their childhood and their transition to adulthood. After about a month of their engagement, Stella's father, Antonio Banderas, praised Alex Gruszynski during a chat with PEOPLE. The Babygirl star was asked to share his feelings on his daughter's new chapter of life, and he expressed excitement about it. Antonio said:

"I feel great! She's happy, I'm happy."

Antonio Banderas was genuinely elated at his daughter's happiness. He also opened up a little about his now-son-in-law, Alex Gruszynski, saying that he has known Alex since forever. He praised his daughter's husband, calling him 'awesome'. Antonio has seen Alex and Stellar grow up together, so he had a fatherly affection towards Alex. In another of Antonio's interviews, as reported by Parade, he said he was "very, very happy for both of them" and that he "loves  the man that [Stella] decided to get married to." Praising Alex, Antonio told PEOPLE:

"He's awesome. I've known him since he was a little kid."

In January 2025, Nova was reported to have raised nearly USD 2 million in pre-seed funding, which is a significant funding for the company. Now, Alex has an additional identity, i.e., the son-in-law of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith.

Both Antonio and Melanie are incredibly fond of Alex and talked warmly about him. After Alex and Stella's engagement, her father shared his journey with the world through an Instagram post, captioning it as "My daughter Stella del Carmen is getting married. We couldn't be happier and more excited."
