After a month-long wait, Stranger Things Season 5 has finally dropped Volume 2 of the season on Netflix, which gives viewers a glimpse into the most dark, emotional, and revealing episodes of the show, just one episode short of the finale. The episodes dive deep into the secrets of Upside Down, explaining why 'Will Byers' suddenly became so powerful and forces Hawkins into an unexpected emotional situation. With 'Vecna's dark plan threatening to kidnap 12 kids, here's everything that happened in Volume 2 of the series, setting the stage for a showdown.

Stranger Things Season 5, episode 5, picks up the story from the biggest shock in episode 4, about 'Will's' sudden rise in powers. Based on the Dungeons and Dragons logic, he is essentially a 'sorcerer', implying his abilities are innate and linked to a higher power, 'Vecna' himself. He is able to get inside Hive Mind easily, and 'Joyce' encourages him to use the same against the super villain.

Meanwhile, 'Lucas' explains how Upside Down particles connect 'Will', 'Max', 'Billy', the Demogorgons, and the 'Mind Flayer'. According to Deadline, the episode also highlights how 'Vecna' manipulates children in his mindscape, convincing them that 'Max' is the real villain while presenting himself as a savior.

Stranger Things Season 5 episode 6: What are the real origins it Upside Down 

Duffer Brothers previously hinted that episode 6 is one of the emotional episodes of the season. 'Dustin" finds out that Upside Down is in reality a scientific wormhole connecting Hawkins to Dimension X, and not some dark magic. Meanwhile, 'Will' gets into 'Vecna' again, giving 'Max' and 'Holly' time to escape. However, 'Vecna' soon understands the plan and follows 'Max' in the real world. Both 'Max' and 'Holly' then come across 'Henry Creel's chilling childhood memories linked to The First Shadow. Consequently, viewers learn how 'Henry' came into possession of the stolen technology, which connected him to Dimension X, and how 'Dr. Brenner' later captured him. In the end, fans get to see an emotional moment when 'Max' helps 'Holly ' regain her strength as the Demogorgons near them.

Stranger Things Season 5, Episode 7, sets the stage for a massive showdown

Next in episode 7, The Bridge, the plot moves towards the showdown after 'Holly' wakes up in Dimension X and reveals the scary fortress where 'Vecna' gains strength by kidnapping children. At the same time, 'Dr. Kay' onfesses that she aims to make children powerful through experiments linked to 'Henry's' blood, and using Upside Down, creates a global war, taking us back to Season 3. Meanwhile, 'Dustin' explains that Upside Down is linked to a chaotic area of activity named The Abyss. In turn, 'Vecna's wants to merge both worlds into one. Subsequently, the group forms a dangerous plan to confront him. Simultaneously, 'Will' bravely comes out, eliminating 'Vecna's emotional control over him.

What will happen in the Stranger Things Season 5 finale episode? 

According to the same outlet, Stranger Things Season 5 finale episode, The Rightside Up, will have a limited theatrical release across North America. In turn, 'Eleven' is preparing for her final confrontation, 'Will's’ power can shift the game, and Hawkins is at the end of destruction. Needless to say, the finale episode is a lot more intense than the audience had expected. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if 'Vecna' is the super evil or something darker will be revealed in the show.
