Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa fame, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi was married to prominent filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur for eight years. They tied the knot in 1999, and were also blessed with a daughter, whom they named Kaveri Kapur. However, after being in marital bliss for a number of years, Suchitra and Shekhar parted ways in 2007, and she levied allegations about infidelity on him. However, it led to to many blame games and they often hit the headlines regarding the same.
Amid all of these, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi opened up about facing certain comments from people when she had started searching for a man in her life post divorce. In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, the actress opened up about the time when she had just divorced Shekhar Kapur. At that time, despite she was managing everything on her own, people were constantly nagging in front of her to get a man in her life. Thus, she had also then started believing that she needs to find one due to immense societal pressure. She narrated:
“I did go through a lot of confusion after I had just divorced. Everybody was telling me that I have to find a partner, and that I wouldn’t be able to manage alone. I started believing that maybe I have to find someone. Toh jo bhi mile, party mein, yahan wahan… Then it became a joke.”

Thus, Suchitra too, started looking for her suitable man in her friend circle. Recalling one such incident when she was giving in to her friends' suggestion about a new partner after her divorce, she talked about a comment she had received from her filmmaker friend, Ken Ghosh. For the unversed, Ken is famous for his movies, including Ishq Vishk, Chance Pe Dance, Fida and many others. Suchitra shared that when she made some bold and provocative approach towards him, he gave her a reality check. Suchitra explained:
“There were Nagesh Kukunoor, and Ken Ghosh… Ken Ghosh, in fact, I had met him at a party, and I was trying to be bold and provocative. He said, ‘Suchi, what are you doing? A face like yours cannot have a cleavage’.”
Suchitra then addressed the rumour that she had approached another filmmaker, Ram Gopal Varma to marry her. Dismissing the rumour, she called it a misunderstanding, and mentioned that she had just jokingly asked him about the same. Suchitra then continued telling what happened next. She mentioned that the filmmaker then immediately summoned her to his office and told her, “I just like women’s bodies, not their brains". Afterwards, Suchitra explained that she is currently single, and not at all interested in finding someone, unless she finds someone extremely suitable for her.

At the end of the interview, Suchitra was also asked about her equation with her ex-husband, Shekhar. She was asked the reason behind maintaining a cordial relationship with him despite their divorce. To this, the actress shared that otherwise she had no other option as they are parents to a child and shared:
“You have to be nice, because it’s no longer about you or the other person, it’s about the child. We are civil people, and we continue to remain civil. Our feelings don’t matter. You do what needs to be done, not what you feel like doing.”
