Sudesh Lehri Has Never Been Inside A School, Shares What He Did For Living, 'A Drunkard Slapped...'

Sudesh Lehri is one of the most famous Indian comedians. He has spent over two decades in the industry and has gained widespread recognition after he participated in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 8. The comedian has appeared on several comedy shows over the years, including Kapil Sharma’s television shows. 

Sudesh Lehri revealed a drunkard slapped him

Sudesh Lehri revealed that a drunkard once slapped him on stage. Recalling the incident, he shared that his mic fell, and his teammates were prepared to beat the man. However, he was exceedingly disappointed by the occurrence. He stated:

"Once, I was doing a show. There was a drunkard there. He randomly came on stage, held me by my collar and slapped me. My mic fell. All my teammates were ready to beat him up, but I stopped them. Later, I was very disappointed. I was like 'What am I even doing, who are these people, they don’t value talent and art.' I returned home and told my wife, 'I am never going to perform at weddings.'"

Sudesh Lehri calls Archana Puran Singh rich

In the same conversation, Sudesh Lehri made a comment about Archana Puran Singh's wealth. For the unversed, the comedian was visiting Archana's Madh Island bungalow. He stated, "I always doubted whether or not you are rich, but today, it has been confirmed that you are indeed rich. I have seen such homes only in films." However, Archana cut him off and revealed that she had seen the comedian's homes on his vlogs, and they were beautiful. He responded and was quoted saying:

"I have made home theatre only for Krushna (Abhishek) because his films aren’t released in theatres. He always claims they are in theatres, but I can never find them."

Sudesh Lehri revealed what he did for a living before becoming a full-time comedian

In the same conversation, Sudesh revealed that he had worked really hard when he was young. He added that he has worked in small shops, used to make tea, worked in several factories, and made footwear and sold vegetables. He further revealed why rich people don't lie; he, being poor, had to lie to moneylenders who would ask for money.

Sudesh Lehri revealed that he was illiterate

Sudesh revealed that he even had to sell his home to repay the moneylenders. However, to lighten the mood, he showed off his singing skills. Seeing his talent, Archana shared with her family, "I never believed he was illiterate. I thought he was just joking." Sudesh revealed that he had never been inside a school. He stated:

"I wanted to do something of my own. I wanted to create a brand of my own and gain fame. I knew I would only be respected if I built my name. Then I got a show. It became a massive hit. I toured so many places. I have never even been inside a school. Recently, I had to shoot an ad, we had to play school kids. It was the first time that I entered a school. My marriage was fixed, and people were behind my life to get married. I got frustrated and said, 'Get me married right now, or I won’t do it.' We had this conversation at 10 am on a Sunday morning, by 12 pm I was married. We tied the knot at a temple."
