Sudhanshu Pandey SLAMS Apoorva Mukhija For 'Disrespecting' Ashish Vidyarthi, 'Jab Aapki Jubaan...'

Karan Johar’s latest reality show, The Traitors, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on June 12, 2025, and has already stirred a whole lot of drama. The show features some popular faces from showbiz, including some renowned actors, astrologists and content creators, categorised in two teams, the ‘Innocents’ and the ‘Traitors.’ Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, has already stirred drama for her casual remarks on veteran actor Ashish Vidhyarthi on the show, which didn’t sit well with many.

Sudhanshu Pandey lashes out at Apoorva Mukhija for her ‘deeply disrespectful’ remarks on Ashish Vidyarthi

Television actor Sudhanshu Pandey, best known for his role as ‘Vanraj’ in Anupamaa, is one of the contestants of the new OTT show, The Traitors. The actor recently took to his social media to speak up on a concern around his co-contestant, Apoorva Mukhija, for her inappropriate remarks on fellow contestant, Ashish Vidyarthi. 

During his live session, Sudhanshu didn’t mince words as he criticised Apoorva for her casual remark, ‘Ashish jaayega’, questioning the tone and attitude of the Gen Z influencer. Alluding to her prior controversies surrounding her attitude and language, the actor said:

“Apoorva, who is known as The Rebel Kid, already has enough controversies surrounding her. I’m not saying she’s a bad person. She’s a good kid. I’m sure she has a good heart, too. But jab aapki zubaan kharaab ho jaaye na, toh wo sab kuch kharaab kar deti hai. Everything else goes for a toss if you do not have the know-how about what to say, and how to speak, about people who are senior to you. Ashish bhai- Ashish Vidyarthi- who is such a senior actor- he’s very senior to me as well. So, behind my back, she was talking about Ashish bhai, and was saying, ‘Mujhe lagta hai Ashish jayega.’”

Sudhanshu says Apoorva’s casual demeanour towards senior actors raises concerns about Gen Z culture

While he mentioned that Apoorva is not necessarily a bad person, Sudhanshu pointed out the influencer’s behaviour and lack of respect for seniors and veteran actors. Visibly upset at Apoorva’s remark, the actor called such behaviour a curse to society, stressing that such casual disrespect towards seniors is not only harmful but also reflects poorly on the youth of today. Considering Apoorva’s fame as a Gen Z icon, Sudhanshu remarked:

“Ashish jayega? Is he your childhood friend or what?… What kind of way is this to talk about people — about actors who are older than even your parents? You’re talking about them like this behind their back? What does this say about you? Please tell me, is this Gen Z? Is this what we think is cool? No, I’m sorry, this is not cool at all. I think this is… like a curse on our society.”

Sudhanshu further reflected on his own children, who also belong to the Gen Z category, but they have learned to be respectful towards others, especially seniors. The Anupamaa actor’s disappointment was evident when he said:

“Even I have kids, and even they are Gen Z, and they are extremely respectful to other people. So I am sorry, I think there are a lot of problems. It really breaks my heart.”

Apoorva Mukhija’s past controversies

The Rebel Kid, urf Apoorva, is no stranger to online controversies, and her most recent scandal at India’s Got Latent is proof of the same. The influencer, who received massive heat following her controversial remarks on Samay Raina’s show, has again landed in hot water for her casual remarks on Ashish Vidyarthi in The Traitors.
