Sudhanshu Pandey On 'The Traitors' Being 'Bigg Boss's' Copy, Hype Around Influencers, 'Baap Toh..'

Sudhanshu Pandey rose to prominence with his role as 'Vanraj Shah' in Anupamaa. The actor did spectacular work on the show and left fans shocked when he announced his departure in 2024. While his exit from Anupamaa left fans upset, he marked his return with Karan Johar's The Traitors and has now revealed his experience working with the influencers on the show.

Sudhanshu Pandey reacts to the hype around influencers 

Sudhanshu Pandey was recently seen in Karan Johar's The Traitors. As the fans were elated to see the actor on screen once again, he sat for a conversation with FilmyGyan and shared his views on the hype around influencers in the present world. During the conversation, Sudhanshu was asked about his opinion on the increasing hype and acting opportunities being given to influencers.

Sudhanshu responded to the question by stating that he doesn't take influencers becoming actors very seriously. He added that no one becomes an actor; one is either born an actor or they are not. However, he asserted that if the influencer is talented, they will definitely get work in the industry, as talent cannot be buried. God gives everyone the opportunity to showcase their talent. However, one cannot take away from an actor who is performing in front of the camera today. He further added:

"Agar aaj Irrfan Khan sahab hotey aur hum ye kehte ki 'yaar Irrfan Khan sahab ki Instagram pe following utni nahi hai aur influencer ki bohot zaada following hai'. Toh issey ye fact nahi badal jayega ki Irrfan Khan se better koi actor hai. Toh isliye ye kehna ki aajkal influencer actor ban rahe hai mai uss cheez ko seriously nahi leta hu, because jo mai kar sakta hu vo influencers nahi kar saktey unless they are genuinely talented."

In the same conversation, Sudhanshu Pandey was asked if he found the show, The Traitors, to be anywhere near similar to the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss. The actor responded to the same and revealed that his first question when he was approached for the show was if it in any way resembled the show. However, once he was satisfied that it was not, he agreed to be on the show. For the unversed, The Traitors marks Sudhanshu's first game show. He was quoted as saying: 

"Toh Bigg Boss se toh iska koi resemblance nahi hai kisi bhi tarah se. Iss show ka formula aaisa hai ki aapke private space mei personal space mei nahi aata hai aur vo sirf ek daaire mei hota hai, usmey task hai, but it's a very clean show. Ismey mind game bohot zaada hai, it's an award-winning format and bohot saare countries mei number one reh chuka hai aur India ka pehla season hai."

Sudhanshu Pandey reacts to the number of influencers who were cast in The Traitors and their popularity among Gen-Z

In the same conversation, Sudhanshu Pandey also reacted to the Gen-Z influencers in the show. He revealed that before the show, he had no idea who most of them were. However, he soon got to know that their content is largely consumed by the Gen-Z crowd. He added that it was probably because of the generational gap that he had no idea who they were, but he was not worried about them impacting his performance or place in the industry.

"Gen-Z ka I am sure accha hoga, I am sure, honestly, mai inmey se kisiko nahi jaanta tha, jo Gen-Z influencers hai. I had no idea ki kaun hai kya hai, but mujhe baad mei pata chala ki ye log popular hai bohot zaada, inkey content bohot consume hota hai, but Gen-Z dwaara hota hai, so people like me obviously don't consider that content. It was nice to know that they are popular among the Gen-Z crowd, lekin baap toh baap hota hai. Toh isiliye mujhe lagta nahi hai ki mereliye koi ghabraane waali baat hai."

Sudhanshu further added that while the show is a reality show, everyone is aware that cameras are on, so no one is 100 per cent real. There might be occasional slip-ups, but everyone is playing a facade. However, the kind of content these influencers are making is already extremely notorious, so while it might be normal for them, it is a challenge for people like him. He added that the overall mix of people was interesting.
